Great Cold Weather Parka
April 2025. 'Just came back from a few weeks in multiple Scandinavian countries, where snow and cold winds were still present. Jacket is well made. Many pockets. (Wish they offered a variety of colors) - but highly recommend!

Carhartt for the win
This is a great winter coat. I am a big guy 6’4” 310. I got the 3xlt for a trip up to the mountains this past winter. I couldn’t be happier. Not only does the jacket keep you warm but it looks good while doing it.

Carhartt Customer Service is the Best!
Ended up buying this jacket because of delivery delays after buying one direct from Carhartt. There’s a lot going on right now so I get it. Unfortunately, I am going out of town and needed the jacket for a trip.Contacted Carhartt about the issue and they said they would contact the carrier. As I was running out of time I bought this one just to make sure I had a jacket.Carhartt came though and delivered the jacket I initially ordered before the Amazon one came in! And now I can return this one! Saving me 90$!Buy direct from Carhartt, they actually care about you as a customer. And don’t support Bezos!

Best by far
My husband is out in the elements A LOT delivering utility poles from a semi in OH and IN. We have had a deluge of snow/rain/sleet this winter. This coat has beat his expectations by far. He stays dry, warm and the coat isn't as bulky as his last artic Carhartt. Would buy again.

A bit too warm
I'm Minnesotan and have a good cold tolerance but this thing is more for sitting still in a tree stand than wearing while moving. It was -10 air temp on a walk recently and I had to unzip it. When I am doing yard work I appreciate the sturdy pockets but I only use the velcro in the front. My arms still overheat.

Excellent overall cold weather protection, with a couple of flaws
I've worked in extreme cold environments for many years in my oilfield experience- including the ~50 below zero with 60mph winds of Western North Dakota...so the Carhartt name is familiar to me. This is a very nice, warm, windproof jacket. I've worn it in temps down to 25 below zero here in Colorado, and it was effective with those temps for hours (with matching bibs, which I'll review separately). The only thing I'd like to see different with this jacket is the outer hand pockets having no provision to secure them shut-- either snaps or zippers or velcro. They are positioned in such a way that stuff falls out of them when I bend over. I'd also love for the chest pocket to be accessible with a vertical zipper like the bibs instead of a horizontal velcro flap so I could put a cell there for easier access, but that's a small thing. One other thing I would really like to see in a future iteration is a cinch cable/strap around the mid section inside the lining to allow a tightening of the primary area of the jacket around the mid abdomen-- I'm skinny, so the reason this would help a LOT is that it would make it way more comfortable to sit in my truck seat-- as it is now it's so loose that it's very hard to sit comfortably without the jacket getting in the way of my seat belt or being bulky on my back. If I could cinch the middle of the jacket to my size better it would conform to my shape and make it easier to sit. I have another jacket that has this feature and it's a game-changer.Other than those suggestions though, this is a truly fantastic jacket (and bibs!) for the price, and I highly recommend them to anyone for cold weather weather.
