Not smelly

I personally don't think this product smells that bad. It just smells a little like old fried fish and if you aren't used to that/ hate that smell then this might not be the product for you. The only time I really smell it is when I open the bottle to use it.When it comes to plants smelling it isn't noticeable unless you stick your face in the plant after using it. Make sure you use the directions and dilute correctly. If you are really scared of the smell dilute it a lot. It will still work and if you feel that it wasn't enough to fertilize your plants fertilize them again next time you water, this product is organic so it won't harm/burn them. I use this for indoor plants and dilute is just as the directions say and its fine! I actually have used it with a little more than the recommended amount and my place doesn't stink up from it. I live in a small NY apartment and I have a lot of plants. I don't smell the fishy smell unless, as i already said, you put your face in the plant. It MIGHT smell a little in the surrounding 6ish inch radius but only for one night and the next day nothing. But I really don't notice it and I am sensitive to smells. I was really worried it would stink up my place like some other people said but it hasn't for me.The plants I use it for include:Areca PalmAloe VeraMarble Queen PothosCebu Blue PothosMoney PlantCalathea MedallionSnake PlantRubber PlantLemon Button FernVariegated Peace LilyMy Variegated Peace Lily was almost dead and this fertilizer helped bring it back! I know people say that once your plant is pretty much dying that fertilizer can't help. In this case before I started using it, it was already coming back but this fertilizer helped it come along really well! I hadn't watered my peace lily in two weeks and it was outgrowing its pot already as in there were roots starting to come up from the soil so a lot of the leaves got crispy/died. It wasn't one of those times where it's just flat and lifeless and water will bring it back, no, it was really dying and I lost 7/8 of the plant. It was already on the road to recovery before I started using the fertilizer but I really do believe this helped it a lot when I started using it! I started seeing waaaaayyyyy more new growth and my peace lily looks revived. My rubber plant was producing smaller leaves than it usually has and when I started using the fertilizer the new leaves were bigger than any leaves it had ever produced and its pushing out so many new ones now!Note*** No other factors were changed (light, water)Some tips if you really are worried:Don't use a watering can when using this product. I'd recommend using a plastic qt. water bottle (reduce, reuse, recycle). I'll rinse the inside when I'm done using it but I think being able to fully seal whatever container being used with this product just eases my mind a lot.I typically will bring my plants to the sink when I water them so that all the water just drains out the drain. If you don't already, you should do this when using the fertilizer to make sure you don't have any fishy smelling water in your drainage tray this way everything just goes down the sink and no your sink won't smell like it either just run the faucet a little and rinse the sink. I let my plants sit in the sink a little to make sure that all of the excess drains out. I also take a wet paper towel and rinse the pot a little before putting the plant back where it was. If you do this and then see that water is still coming out and going into the drainage tray, empty it as soon as you see it!Best of luck!

Gag me with a shovel- but hope it works

Well it's only been 5 days so I dont see any changes in my citrus trees YET...but be aware that the smell of this product is horrific. Imagine taking a decomposing body, some rotted fish, some butt-sweat, a pile of warm diarrhea, and then mixing it all with a quart of carnival vomit and adding a can of old tuna and a tiny bit of skunk urine as an accent. That's what this is. I hope it helps my plants, because once it gets on you or anything else, you might as well just file for divorce.

My chili peppers love this stuff!

I'm not a serious gardener, but this planting season, I wanted to plant from hot chili pepper plants as I love to make a variety of spicy sauces. And even though I mixed in slow-release fertilizer into my potting soil, I wanted to give the plants a little boost. In my research for caring for chili pepper plants, I ran across several people who advocated using fish emulsion, so I bought this bottle to try it out. After a couple of months of using it, all I can say is, "Wow!" Though I don't have anything to compare to, I did notice that after a couple of weeks, it seemed as if my plants' growth went into overdrive. When I planted them, they were 8-10" seedlings. But within a very short time after starting to use the fish emulsion, they've shot up - and out! They've been growing so fast that I've had to get cages, so they don't collapse! My habaneros are showing lots and lots of fruit nodules and my Thai Dragon peppers have a couple of dozen spikes forming. It's going to be a great harvest!

Great product and natural way to boost growth

I was told by a rose grower that I bought a bare root plant from to use this product because it wasn't coming out of dormancy. I have always wanted to buy this for my veggies but never did. Well my rose bushes are thriving, and early leafy greens in the garden are the best ever. I tested on arugula and did half with the product and the other without. Night and day difference. I am waiting to see what these does with tomatoes. I have an early variety (4th of July) that is already setting flowers. I have never had flowers this early in eastern PA (3rd week of May). I will wait to see what the whole season is like before saying tomatoes benefit from the fertilizer. So far I am very happy and the smell is not bad. If using indoors it could be an issue but you do dilute the product so it shouldn't bother most gardeners.
