Q: Is this dishwasher safe?

I have put it through the dishwasher after popping it apart (clear base from steel top) to sanitize. Worked just fine.

Q: The rust issue concerns me, but this design is just what I am looking for. Has anyone found an alternative item that will not rust.

I put a few drops of soap (enough to line the bottom) in the catch tray to keep the mildew away and just shake dry the brushes and the sponge. Zero rust issues and have had mine well over 5 years.

Q: How to remove the drip tray? HELP!!! please. The video makes it look easy, but the one I received feels like it's glued on and could break.

I had trouble at first too .. I think there are clear stickers/tape that hold the top and bottom of the tray together that you need to remove before it will open easily. Look very closely and see if you can find and remove them and then try again!
