Intermatic HB35K Outdoor Timer, 2 Outlet, Black

This product was exceptionally easy to use. I didn’t use to utilize timers but I changed my mind this time around. Best decision ever and never going back. Quality product build. I dropped it once or twice with no visible damage and worked just fine.

Of course its and intermatic so good brand. I chose this one over all the others because the plug is at a right angle so it hangs straight down with less stress on outlet and plug. Is worked great for a few months out in the weather.

Crappy switching mechanism. Had this outside to control the garden lights but timer mechanism stopped working after a few weeks when the switch got stiff because the center circle part expands (hotter weather, 80°) and jams causing the lights to be always on. I ended up taking it apart to try to lubricate but that didn’t work and I had to cut the circle to narrow the diameter which kinda worked but just stopped working again and seems to have expanded even more.

I bought this one to replace the older one that failed. The Dusk to Dawn is powering a low voltage transformer for landscape lighting. The timer part of the transformer in not working but the transformer works so it is manually in an on position powered up from dusk to dawn by the HB51K unit instead of buying a new transformer that costs 5X what the HB51K runs. Works like a charm Joe

we were hoping that it had dusk to dawn setting. it doesn't. description does NOT claim that it does. we were hoping that was simply overlooked. otherwise, it's a fine timer. (there IS a dusk to dawn intermatic timer, but it's twice the price; to get a lower cost dusk to dawn, we went to a competitor that has them for less than $15.)

I've had this plugged in on my patio for the past six months and it's worked perfectly without a blip. Pretty easy to set up though the instruction manual wasn't the most descriptive, I was able to figure it out regardless. I don't live in a super rainy area (I'm in Southern California) but we had a pretty wet winter overall by California standards and it held up really well. Not sure if it would do equally well if you live in a monsoon area but I'd imagine it would last just fine. I'd recommend this.

Not just for the food value, but also to give me something to do during the lockdown.I bought a blacklight fixture from the "massive destroyer of downtown businesses" giant retailer and substituted a led-growlight bulb and converted my little laundry closet into a greenhouse.After several days of forgetting to turn on/off the bulb, I got this to be my low-tech alexa.Got to start plants before it warmed up outside and it has worked out great so far.

Bought for a pan aerator in a small lake. Failed immediately. I contacted the help department and was told it wouldn’t work on a 3/4 hp motor. I contacted the warranty dept and they immediately replaced it.I suggest it should only be used on lights or items without much draw.

There's a lot of bad reviews on this timer. I gotten pretty good success with both of my purchases. I use one of them for my Christmas lights in the winter, and garden lights in the summer. I would make sure that if you use it for high amperage like pumps/heaters/ block heaters etc. make sure your receptacles are tight and rust free especially outdoor ones. Replace them when they feel loose plugin and unplugging cords. Eg. my cord for my toaster oven was getting really hot and i replaced the receptacle and it solved the problem. Remember high amps and long run times need a good contact.

Worked well to switch Outdoor lights on and off

Works well, with good time resolution. Used for Christmas lights, and kept time perfectly. There is a very noticeable loud click when truing off and on, that I haven't experienced with outer similar timers, but no real issue with that in my environment.2023 update.The timer does a couple weeks ago. Finally took it to bits and found the failure mode. The main gear stripped the teeth at the point where the timer switched to the "on" position. The force required to activate the switch is too high for the nylon teeth to handle and they stripped out.I got a couple years out of it, but I feel like something like this should last longer. Now it's just more e-waste

I use this for patio lights on my balcony. There were several functions on the timer that will allow you to do dusk to dawn or time as the on lit function. I currently have it set for eight hours so it dusk the lights come on for eight hours and then shut off in the winter; it’s really a treat not to have to go outside and turn on and off the lights good product.
