Alaska Smokehouse Smoked Salmon Fillet, 8 Ounce Gift Box

Good flavor. Slightly dryer texture than refrigerated versions I've had.......but no complaints. Fair price.....no not cheap, but let's face it.....smoked salmon is somewhat of a luxury product. Best praise I can give is I will buy more in the future.

I adore smoked Alaskan salmon. I even get cravings for it, lol. This was pretty inexpensive as far as smoked salmon goes, so I decided to give it a try. I normally get Seabear. The quality of this brand is very comparable, though I still prefer Seabear to this - with Seabear, I feel like I can taste the wild, but with this, that "wild" flavor isn't nearly as intense.If you're raising an eyebrow at me right now, I don't mind, lol. I grew up with fresh seafood. I can taste anything and often tell whether it came from the ocean, a farm, a river, etc. I think the reason this taste is so different from Seabear is due to fishing in different waters. It's slight, so I'm guessing most folks won't be able to tell the difference. A real seafood fan with sensitive tastes will, though. Seabear tastes more like deep ocean; this is more mild, and I'm guessing it was caught somewhere where the salt water isn't as concentrated, like maybe the mouth of a river.Either way, it's good fish, and I wasn't able to make it last! Lol! Try it out with some black garlic spread on top, and you'll be in pure salmon heaven!

First of all from my photo you can see this is not at all what the pic looks like on their packaging . Comes out all crumbled and with all the skin still on it.( pic is of after i attempted to take skin off) its an absolute mess trying to get the skin off. For the price they charge it should come skinned. And the taste is awful. Ive bought similar things at costco and this does NOT taste like salmon at all. I eat salmon every single month and ive eaten ALOT of smoked salmom and the taste of this one , is , well unique from any other ive eaten. To be clear, that is Not a compliment .I dont usually leave nagative reviews as i try to kepp mine on a positive note ; but i am leaving this because whats inside is questionable in my opinion , horribly drowned in oil , and i looks nothing like what they claim on the packaging . As u can see it was not a nice pink color at all. And b4 the say thats because its smoked ,lol , i e eaten tons of smoked salmon where its very pink and all that . Im sorry but this is not in any stretch of the imagination , worth the money they are charging . I wouldnt buy tgis again of it was only $1 . Save your moneyAnd btw the calories of this “ salmon “ are way higher than other salmon and smoked salmon . Probably because of all the oil its drowned in that is nit labeled on the packaging. They claim only salt , spices and natural alder smoke is in it . Lol. All that liquid in the pic is oil not water and , yes i k ow salmon is oily . But the globs of gel oil in the packaging and all the oil that comes out , is unlike any amount of oil ive ever seen cool off of salmon or be in smoked salmom packaging.

Great product which I have had many times before. Not heavy smoke taste if that is what you wish. Says two pack but only quantity of one shipped. Rare Amazon mistake.

Tastes great! I was worried about buying smoked salmon from Amazon for our Christmas party, but it was worth the money! Great taste, didn’t smell weird or fishy! It was a hit!

Don't order as a gift as these are shipped in a bubble envelope. Mine had a 3" ripped corner and looked like it had been walked on repeatedly...probably just constantly smashed against boxes on its journey. The product itself was fair to good. The skin is left on, there's a little more oil than expected, had a firm texture. and mine had some tough pieces probably because I got the tail end, and the meat is thin in that area. It also tasted good with a decent smoke flavor, but I've had better for sure.

Today I have eaten smoked salmon, originally meant to be a Christmas gift. The expected recipient has gone. So, I finally took the package of salmon, opened it, made a little sauce and ate the fish with rice. I have rated the fish five stars as the appearance, the flavor and the texture pleased me very nicely. I feel sorry for the reviewers who have had bad experiences--perhaps my experience was exceptional--I was delighted with my experience.

This is the output of an industrial additive process that delivers a very mediocre flavor. I sent sent several of these as Christmas presents to family members plus a couple for ourselves. Now we are embarrassed for the poor quality as gifts. We have 1 package left here but will likely throw it out rather open and try to eat it.
