Casper Dog Bed, Plush Memory Foam, Small, Sand

I bought two of these nearly three years ago. They've held up amazingly well over that timeframe. My dogs use them daily. The small size works very well for my dog weighing 27 lbs (pictured). The medium fits, with some room to spare, my other dog weighing about 37 lbs.You might consider topping these off with a microfiber blanket (pictured), which I've found much easier to shake out and wash weekly than the bed's fabric shell. Yes, the shell is plush, durable, and washable, but taking it apart and putting it back together again is a bit of effort. And, the top of the shell, at least the sand color, shows every bit of drool.

The Casper dog bed is the best - it’s always the favorite in the house, so I had to buy a second one so that they will each have their own. It’s well made, supportive and easy to put together. I’ve seen comments about the top getting dirty easily, but I buy a cushion cover and put it over the bed so that I can take that off easily & wash it frequently.

This is the classiest and most comfortable bed our furbaby ever slept in it. This is the second one we purchased. Unfortunately we had to return it because she had hurt her leg badly and any bed was difficult for her to lay on. At this point she was 16 years old. She would lay on the floor to sleep. I was so tired of the dog beds at the pet stores. They would go flat, or were hard to remove the covers a d repack to wash, or couldn’t be cleaned properly at all. These have a super durable cover, offer lots of supportive cushion, and are easy to clean. Expensive at first, but have are absolutely worth it. My two dogs love them.

I think this is a good alternate, a little expensive but with good built quality, and looks and feel nice and comfy for the dogThe fact that all the inside is built in parts makes it a little difficult to put together after washing, but not the end of the worldI wish it came with cooling gel as my dog gets hot sleeping on it.

We have an elderly dog with declining mobility and most dog beds are too fluffy - they catch on her feet when she tries to turn to lay down, or they have high side bolsters that she can't get over very well. This bed is perfect for her. The firmness of the foam is just right to cushion her joints and bones while supportive enough for her to walk on without getting caught up. The side bolsters are very slight - just enough to give stability to the edges of the bed and a slight rise for her head, without being a tripping hazard.The design is the best-thought-out that I have encountered. Each foam section has a liner covering, and the actual cover has a seperate zip compartment for the main central rectangle - there's no squeezing or smashing of stuffing into place - everything slots in smoothly, zips with a nice fit and hidden zipper, and the end of the zipper is even covered to protect the floor. And I know that it will be easy to remove and replace the cover for washing.My *only* complaint is that we really need a size between medium and large - large is really really big, but medium is too small for our dog.Kudos to Casper for a great, well-thought out product!

UPDATE! From 2 stars to 1. These are junk. Other bed has same issue as first one now, with popped seam on cover. My dog discovered the foam layer this time, though, and I came home to a mess of shredded (not memory, but just "regular") foam. The bonus? Dog puke--a mixture of dog food and foam, to be precise--coating my hardwood floor. Do not buy this bed, unless you enjoy spending relatively large sums of money for a junk product. Run far away from this one... I've never purchased a worse dog bed in over 30 years of dog ownership.We bought two of these back in August (we have two mutts, one about 60 lbs/2 years old and the other about 45 lbs and 5 years old), deciding to spend more on higher quality beds vs buying another $40 bed from Costco or the grocery store. We’d been through lots of beds over the years and hoped this would be a long term solution. Simply put, the quality is not there. We wash these monthly on delicate in mesh bags…I have followed every cleaning recommendation given in the initial documentation, as I loved these beds and wanted them to last. Unfortunately, the fabric looked completely different after the first wash and the overall softness has deteriorated significantly since the first wash back in September. Also, know that the inner padding will NOT survive the washing machine without significant damage. If your dog pees on this bed, it WILL soak though to the foam! If you are right there and witness the peeing, you might be okay. But if there’s 10 minutes of soak time, the pee will absolutely soak through the bed and end up on your floor (this was the issue with our younger dog). I’m leaving this review today because I just noticed the stitching on one of the beds is failing…there’s no tear or chewing from the dogs or anything, the seam has just popped open. These beds are not meant to last.Long story short: great idea for a high quality bed, but the actual product is not worth the high price and you would be better off with another $40-50 bed with memory foam. Don’t buy this bed.

Casper dog beds are high quality items and well worth the cost. This is our second one which is used by all 3 of our dogs. The cover is sturdy and the interior cushions stand up to daily use by active dogs, our largest being 70 pounds, while the other 2 dogs - 40 pounders are much more active on it.

I've been going back and forth on whether my shih tzu (at a chubby 17 pounds) REALLY needed this bed or not. She's getting up there in age so I decided that I may as well bite the bullet now before she can't get too much use out of it. Honestly, at first she was a little skeptical, which made me feel as though I'd wasted my money on an item I couldn't use. I put a few of her favourite toys and blankets in the bed the next day, and she gave it another shot. Now, it's difficult for us to get her to use another bed (we have a few around the house). Before she would take herself to the closest bed and sleep. Now, I constantly see her seeking out the Casper only. She really loves scratching away at the surface of the bed, and it's definitely held up really nicely against all of her abuse. Still looks new! It's well made, easy to clean, and the dog loves it! My only regret is that I didn't buy it for her sooner. If you're thinking about this item, I would go ahead and give it a try. Your fur baby will thank you!
