How 'liquid' is this? Is it runny enough that it will spill out easily?

It doesn't spill easily, no. You do need to squirt it out out else it will only drip slowly. If you knock the container over you don't have to worry about losing more than a drop or two. Think "warmed syrup" more than "water". Hope that helps!

Does it contain glycerin?

Hello! Yes it seems to contain glycerin...Purified Water , Glycerin , Sorbitol , Propylene Glycol , Natrosol 250h , Benzoic Acid , Methylparaben , Sodium HydroxideHope this helps!
