If one wants a really good cup of tea, then needs be that loose tea is used. For convenience, this bagged tea provides a good cuppa of Assam.

I discovered this tea while on a queen Mary 2 trans Atlantic voyage. I usually drink English breakfast tea, but this was a very robust, tasty and delightful tea, which I now have added to my daily tea drinking ritual. I prefer it straight with a small amount of sugar, sans milk. A wonderful afternoon treat.

I have been drinking The Republic of Tea's British Breakfast and Organic Assam teas for years. I really like them, but as time goes by, I've been wishing for a stronger-flavored tea, even though I steep them for 6 minutes.Twinings Assam "Strong and Malty" is definitely stronger. Just had my first cup, which I steeped for just 3 minutes with 15 ounces of water with a single tea bag. And it is strong. It's a bit too tannic for my taste, so next time I'll try 2.5 or even 2 minutes. I have no doubt I'll get at least one more 15-ounce strong cup of tea out of this single tea bag, which makes this tea much less expensive than it seems.

We were introduced to this tea by a restaurant manager after we were served iced "tea" from a fountain. He was from India and explained its origin to us. We have fallen in love with it, but can't find it on the shelves of our local stores, so we've ordered several times from Amazon. It brews a very strong tea, so try it cautiously at first.

I previously bought Assan tea that was very good, but purchased Twinings this time because it was described as "foil sealed". I thought that meant each tea bag was foil sealed for freshness, but that is not the case. The package contains two foil pouches of 40 bags each. The pouches are lightweight and not resealable. The tea is OK but not as good as Harrogate, in my opinion.
