Melissa & Doug Construction Worker Role Play Costume Dress-Up Set (6 pcs)

I needed a Halloween costume for my son who just turned 6. I chose Melissa and Doug because I know they are usually high quality and Amazon could get it to me fast. I wasn't wrong! High quality material, ours came on a little plastic hanger with a plastic covering so it can be stored again. Front close is velcro so it was easy to get on and off. The tools were made well and had fitted loops to hold them in (the saw kept falling out while trick or treating, though, so I carried that one after a while). Another cute addition is the name tag- you can take it out and write your child's name on it, along with adding a photo if you want, so it looks like a real ID card! Contrary to what others say in their reviews, our hat did come with an adjustable plastic ring inside of it, so you can change the fit of the hardhat. We took it out all together since the hat fit my son well without it. At the age of 6, this vest fit him just perfectly. My son is tall and slender for his age. He might be able to wear it again next year but my guess is it might be too short. This was a comfortable costume for Halloween and my son wore it most of the day with no issues. Paired with kids work boots, it looked adorable!

Amazing price for such a good quality product! I ordered this, along with 2 others in the collection, on a Saturday morning and received it on Monday afternoon. Also, I paid only $5 shipping and handling for the entire order! What a deal. I was very impressed with the quality of the outfits and the amount of extras that were included. Out of the three outfits there was only one defect (missing earpiece on stethoscope). The outfits all have pockets, velcro closures, headpieces, name tags, and at least 3 accessories that make play dress up so much fun for my 4 1/2 year old. The size of the outfits are appropriate as well. They make great Halloween costumes, too, and are so much less expensive.

I haven't taken this out of the package yet because I bought it for my nephew for Christmas, but oh my gosh is it ever cute! It don't know if I realized it was Melissa and Doug when I bought it--I looked at SO many different things (wanted to get my nephew a whole construction themed gift so I bought orange cones and a drill for him, too) so I must not have been paying attention to the maker of this set. But am I ever pleased! I love Melissa and Doug products anyway. I wish I could be there to see him open it up. This is a perfect set, GREAT price, and everything you could want is included. I highly recommend this.

While deciding what type of costume to get for our 3 year old, we came across this Melissa and Doug Construction and thought it would be a great idea. Leading up to Halloween he has really enjoyed watching the Blippi Halloween song, which features that personality narrating while in a construction themed costume.This construction style costume is made fairly well and, overall, should last at least a couple of years, even with the occasional use during playtime. The reflective strips work great and are clearly visible when light reflects off of them. We were able to put the vest over his winter coat, had him wear his beanie with his hood going over the helmet, for a complete “construction worker in the winter time” look.As good as this costume is, there are some things that could be better and might turn those with really little ones off from buying this until they’re a little older. The goggles have no air, or breathing, holes, so after only a few minutes of wear they will fog up. We drilled holes into ours to prevent this from happening. The inner headband is not directly attached to the helmet and can come off without much effort. The connectors on the headband do not have very large points to keep the band from coming apart. The pockets aren't quite long enough to properly keep the tools from falling out, if the child moves quick enough, but the large pocket is able to fully hold the goggles.This Melissa and Doug costume is definitely a quick and convenient way to turn your child into a construction worker. This is a cute well made play set. Ordered for my 2 year old for Halloween and there is plenty of room to grow into. The hard hat has an inside piece to tighten it to the head. This fell out very easily. I took gorilla glue and glued it back and it was fine. The tools are well made and get played with a lot. The little vest is also well made.

The 3-year old I gifted this to was over the moon about this outfit and he wore it almost every day for several weeks after receiving it--he wanted to wear it to bed over his pajamas!--instead he was allowed to put it on when he first got up in the morning. :) He is crazy about playing with construction vehicles, tractors, etc. and names them and so on. So, he was really pleased to get to wear the outfit that goes along with all of his pretending. It has held up very well considering he is a very active boy, so I would definitely recommend this product on that note as well.

What a delightful dress-up outfit for the construction-minded kids in your life. The outfit is durable, well-made and has enough accessories to make a little one feel and look like a real construction worker. This was a must for my grandsons after watching the video series "The Detonators" and all of their other construction videos. They even got to wear them when they met Jim Redyke of Dykon Explosive Demolition and he was kind enough to autograph their hardhats. Even if you're not lucky enough to go to a demolition, if your little ones like to play construction worker, buy this outfit for them! It will last and last and afford a great deal of fun!
