The Western Guide to Feng Shui: Room by Room

Be aware that this book was first published in 1999, and it shows. The references, the writing, and especially the photographs feel old. It's a bit disorganized and choppy, so you will have to go through the entire book, picking up pieces here and there, before you have a complete picture of a room and what to do with it. And as some other reviewers have pointed out, it is very westernized - which makes the idea of using bamboo flutes on a heavy wooden ceiling beam feel awkward and out of place. Yes, you can get some good ideas from this book; but the same can be said of books that are more recently written and more relevant to today.

Very much inspired to take deliberate action in creating a home that supports me in being my best in all areas of life!!

This book has lots of information and ideas. I like that I can flip through and see areas or rooms I want to review as well as review the bagua mat for each room and entry.

I enjoyed reading this over the past few days and look forward to reading more. After all the reading on feng shui, there was actually plenty of insights I hadn't come across before!

I'm a beginner with Feng Shui and I found this book to be very helpful and easy to read and understand. The author makes it so simple to get your home and your life organized. It took me about a week and a half to finish the book because I kept stopping to clean out and rearrange certain areas of my house and I'm already seeing the results after only two weeks. It's true what they say about out with the old, in with the new. I got rid of everything I don't absolutely love, and I'm already finding that things I truly want are coming into my life...including new friends.

I got this on my Paper White reader. I like the book. However, I wish I could view the pictures in color through a link online or something. I guess getting this book in black and white was a poor choice.I do like the information. It's an easy read. Get your tape measure, graph paper, and compase ready!

There is loads of tips in this book, to make your home, office or anywhere Feng Shui friendly. Very comprehensive and informative. Also has some detailed diagrams to help. I bought the Kindle version. Excellent value for money.

Great and inspirational book eay to follow and a really easy bagua to draw slightly different to the eastern bagua, but tips etc still very effective you may be shocked by the application. I recommend this read if you are remotely interested in feng shui.

Very interesting. We look after many people doing Feng Shui courses at a centre closr to our home in France. This book has been very useful to understand a little more about the subject. To learn that it is not magic but common sense. People who practice Feng Shui have much to teach us. If you want an insite into the subject this is a good introduction.

This book is great. Gives great diagrams and pictures alongside the text information and alternatives to fit into your own home. Already started my changes.If you don't try.........

Easy to dip in & out of. I'm a new convert to Feng Shui & enjoy using this book, along with others, to interpret Feng Shui for my home & gain little insights into the power of our environment to make us happier & healthier.
