Easy to assemble, looks good. A seat cushion is almost a must; makes it way more comfortable.

This item was the WORST to assemble. Still haven’t figured out the hinge system and I am pretty good at assembling items like this. I wasn’t strong enough to screw the screw into the “pilot holes” if you can even call them that. The bolts are cheap and strip easily. And again the hinges are so stiff it is impossible to close the seat cover when they are attached. I should also mention the hardware bag was torn open and the hardware was loose in the box. I found all the pieces but still struggled to assemble.

It was pretty easy to put to get her but the bench part would not open. It was too snug. It broke when sat on. I should have just bought some long screws and screwed the whole thing shut. It would have looked tacky but better than broken.

Hubbie bought it for our 31st anniversary and I love it. Nice and strong and very sturdy too

I bought this product to use inside as a storage bench. We brought it in overnight and one corner of the box was slightly torn. It smelled so strongly of solvent from that little opening in our hallway! So I did some research. Some teak oils contain Naphtha. Naphtha is primarily used to produce high octane gasoline and is also used as a solvent in the chemical industry. Naphtha has carcinogenic properties. Products that contain naphtha include lighter fluid, camp stove fuel, and some cleaning solvents like teak oil. The CDC explicitly states that naphtha can cause damage to the liver and kidney in animals. Apparently, some pet owners have noticed their pets behaving oddly, vomiting, and shaking violently. This was without even coming into direct contact with the oil. Simply the aroma was enough to induce negative reactions in some cases. Some sites I read advised to use teak sealer instead of teak oil and not just because of the risk of teak oil poisoning. Also, apparently teak oil will not prevent fading (as many think) and it can sometimes cause mildew due to over application. Teak sealer, in contrast, will prevent teak furniture from fading to gray. Bottom line, due to the stink of this product and my assumption that this teak oil contains carcinogenic properties. I definitely do not want this in my house - and would not even want it around my animals outside.

This bench is pretty sturdy, it was a little tricky to assemble because the directions aren’t very clear. There were weird spots on the back of the bench seat that made it look used or like it had been out in the weather for a while, not what I would have expected after purchasing brand new. Finally, the bench seat that pops up hits both arm rests so it’s harder to open and close on top of the touchy springs. Good enough but won’t be buying again.

I rarely write reviews. And when I do, I tend to write positive ones. I am making an exception this time because this product is so bad I want to save others the frustration. First of all, it is very difficult to put together. My husband is very experienced in construction and, although he figured it out, it was a huge pain. ( NOTE: several people said the hinges didn't fit...they do fit, they are just specific which side they go on.) The wood is very low quality! , The back cracked the first time we sat on it. We glued the wood back together and reinforced it. It is in a covered location so I can't speak to how well it holds up in weather but I wouldn't have high hopes for it. And then the WORST THING OF ALL we were sitting on it one evening and IT COLLAPSED! Again my husband found some better quality wood and rebuilt the thing. It looks very nice...but we're scared to sit on it!

The back panel is cut poorly, grooves not cut at all in some places. Foam plastic is stuck to the panels, appears melted or glued on. Hinges are very stiff and difficult to install.

Item is damaged in several places, chipped, worn away, and even a large chunk was taken out of the arm, the quality of the wood is terrible, and the assembly instructions are hard to follow :(
