This is a nice bass
I'm a long time bass player, been playing since the '70s. Owned a LOT of basses over that time, and own quite a few now. I have USA Fenders, Rickenbacker, Gibson Thunderbird, MM Stingray, etc. This MIM Fender holds up with them all. I actually prefer it over my American Jazz Bass because of the lighter weight. It plays just a nicely, and I love the stock pickups. Very versatile. I bought this on a "used" discount although it's brand new and came with the hang tags still on it. It was meant to be a backup, but it's becoming a daily player. As you can tell, I highly recommend this bass. Save yourself around $1k and buy this "Player" version if you're interested in playing over collecting. I do both, and this is a great every day instrument.

Great Value
Great instruments are being crafted in Mexico. I’ve owned several Jazz Basses in the past, but this is my first “Player” series one. Count me satisfied with the build quality, playability, sound and looks. Craftsmanship is top notch, considering it’s a MIM and not USA made. No sharp frets. Neck is very comfortable. After a Hi Mass bridge upgrade and a setup, it plays smooth as butter (pun intended). Being a Jazz Bass, it is very versatile tone wise. This buttercream version looks beautiful. Pictures don’t even do it justice. Price might seem a bit steep, but I was able to get one on sale and it was totally worth it. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a solid Bass at a reasonable price.

Fender Jazz Bass
I was very hesitant of buying a bass guitar on Amazon, but I’m very impressed. Half of my Amazon packages come damaged, BUT the bass showed up in perfect condition. It looks great and sounds incredible. The action was a bit high and the intonation needed to be adjusted, but that isn’t uncommon when buying an instrument, and it’s part of regular maintenance - an easy fix.Nothing sounds quite like a Fender Jazz Bass. I love it.

Great! If you know how to set it up yourself
The Bad:- There was no factory setup done to this bass, I believe it was assembled, given a quick functionality test then boxed. It needed a full setup on arrival including the truss rod (took more than a full turn to get it to spec!), intonation, saddle height and pickup height. If you are not comfortable doing your own setups you will have to factor the cost of getting it done by a professional.- Tone knob broke two days after bass arrived, see picture. I did not bang it against anything or treat it roughly at all. I simply turned the tone knob and the top of it snapped off. To me it’s not worth the effort of contacting Fender for warranty service, I just ordered a replacement. The Good:- Once the bass is properly set up it plays and sounds fantastic!- The satin finish on the back of the neck is very smooth and feels good, not sticky at all.- All the wood and hardware is very solid without making the bass too heavy. Mine weighs in at 9.2 lbs which is not bad for an alder body Jazz bass.- The finish looks metallic and is very nice, much better than what I was expecting, and it is flawless on mine. The color seems to look either blue or green depending on lighting.- Fretwork is really good, edges slightly rough but not bad enough to cause any problems. There are no uneven frets and no buzzing or dead spots.Bottom line:Overall, I am very happy with this purchase, even though I am a bit disappointed with Fender over the lack of setup and the broken tone knob. For me these are both very minor issues but still disappointing at this price point.I wanted a simple classic Jazz bass to add to my arsenal and this bass fits the bill. It does play and sound great plus looks really nice, highly recommended if you are good with doing your own setups.

Oh, it’s definitely a keeper.
Beautiful, and flawless. I’m pleasantly surprised that the fret lines are indicated by actual thin metal ‘fret’ inlays rather than what appeared to be cosmetic lines on the fret board. It adds a subtle crisp sound to the strings, which I was going for. I’m delighted that the included strings are new, very good quality flatwound strings. The bridge is more robust than I imagined, and the vol/tone knobs have a very good, smooth feel. Man, the neck is soooo buttery smooth! This is a fine, well-crafted instrument. I’m very particular about where I like the strings, and this bass has been set up as if it were adjusted for me personally. Unbelievable. Goosebumps. I love it!

Beautiful Sound. Well build Bass.
I'm very pleased with the quality and sound of this Jazz bass; although, I did find a very small dent on the body (not a big issue in my opinion and I'll still keeping this bass.) The item was packed very well too.I did have a small issue with the delivery carrier (UPS, who delivered this by error to one of my neighbors instead of delivering it to me, but my neighbor brought it back to me the following day), it's obviously not a Fender or Amazon fault therefore I'm still giving this item a 5 star review.

Sweet sounding bass with minimal setup required
Received this guitar in two days and right out of the box it sounded great! A minimal amount of setup was required (few adjustments to the frets and pickup distance) but this guitar has been my go to for the past year.Im sure there are other brands of guitars that are better at this price range but nothing beats the quality and feel of a Fender guitar. My only complaint is that the buttercream color looks more like yellow in certain lighting.Frets and fretboard were smooth and easy to play. Pickups are nice and loud. If one is looking for an upgrade to the squire, this is a good place to start.
