Dies not make a good Toybox, but great for Decor and storing
Hardware is a little flimsy, however Chest is Awseome. I bought it mostly for Decor looks great in my Western/Southwest Den. Very Happy

Breaks Easy
Looks nice, but stain/finish comes off when you touch it. It breaks just opening it or doing normal things like moving it. Not durable at all.

Beautiful to look at but not to lock up any personal items
The quality of this chest was not as good as I expected. The locks seemed like they would break at any given time.

Looks decent, but poorly constructed.
The side panels were not secured. I had to add nails to hold it together.

Good storage.
Love the antique look of this chest. Very thin wood and clasps are not the best quality but it is large for storage and looks very good at the end of my couch.

Very nice chest to hold memories.
Very nice chest. I chose it to keep my husbands keepsakes to pass on to our children. Just right to hold memories.

Appears nice to guests from afar
Appears nice to guests from afar, but cheaply built and frankly dangerous for children. All the metal fastenings arrived detached or detaching. The lid has every reason to fall and crush hands reaching inside the chest. Wood stain comes off and stains EVERYTHING it touches. Argued with spouse not to buy this, but lost.

Great trunk
Great trunk. I bought this originally to put all of my keepsake memories in it and it's perfect!. I am able to fit a preserved wedding dress, as well as many other keepsakes that my husband has given to me over the years. I have had so many compliments on this trunk.

Not as high quality as I expected
The quality of the chest is not what I was hoping for. It's very thin wood so don't expect it to take a beating.The shipping box was fitted like a glove to the chest. There is no packing foam to protect the chest from bangs and dings during shipping. Two corner metal pieces were slightly deformed due to box damage and a few staples on the wood ribs had been partially dislodged which I was able to push back in.The chest looks really nice. I just wish the materials used to build it were of better quality. Had it been less expensive I would have given it a better star rating but as it is I was underwhelmed.
