DEWALT20V MAX Jig Saw, Tool Only (DCS331B)

My DeWalt impact driver used to be my favorite DeWalt tool. It still is for usefulness but ... THIS JIGSAW ROCKS! I would give it 6 stars if I could. I've always used a corded saw and always hated the cord. For some inexplicable reason it never occurred to me to get a cordless version. I finally decided to splurge and I doubt I'll ever use the corded saw again. There's much that I could talk about, but I'll just touch on the obvious. BTW, my neighbor was over the other day and he was laughing when he tried the saw. He couldn't believe how nice it is.From the moment you lay eyes on this and then pick it up for the first time you will feel a sense of joy settling into your soul. It's solid and built like a tank. There s not a control on this saw built cheaply. It's as if it were built for combat service. With the battery installed it feels well balanced and is easy to control.The motor is ridiculous. Fast. Powerful. Smooth. Quite loud at high speed, but without checking the numbers I'll bet this is twice the speed of my corded. The speed control is awesome. It's effortless to baby the blade at super slow and gently increase speed.The heavy duty base has a positive locking detent at 0 degrees and a large, heavy duty lever keeps it securely locked at other angles.The quick release is another example of impressive engineering. Imagine working a latch that meets minimum requirements. Now imagine if they bolstered the weight and thickness of the parts by ten. It's just a pleasure to operate.I hadn't realized that they made jig saws with a dust blower. That is just awesome. No more hunched over, blowing with my mouth as I move along!UPDATE:I've used this saw countless times now, in the shop (convenience of no plug) and in my on-going kitchen renovation. I still LOVE this saw! I make good use of the four oscillating settings, depending on rip versus cross cutting, as well as the desired quality of cut. It has excellent speed control - nay, perfect speed control. I haven't used my corded saw since buying this.

I was really impressed with the quality of this product. It made quick work of cutting out speaker holes in the lounge and groove ceiling. Highly recommend

I love the feel of the handle and the weight of a well made jigsaw. The battery I purchased gives the jigsaw plenty of power. Very easy to guide and has very little vibration. I also appreciate that it has no cord! This DeWalt product is worth the money.

Our daughter requested this and she really likes it. It runs smoothly. The noise level is not too bad. It's easy to grip. The battery life is normal.

I'm really impressed with this cordless jigsaw!!!I've been doing construction work (of various types), for over 30 years.This DeWalt cordless jigsaw is absolutely amazing, in both quality and durability.With a 4 or 5 Ah battery, it's very strong and powerful.The motor in it, sounds just as smooth as the best corded jigsaws.This is a compact jigsaw, and I'm really at a loss of words about how nice this saw is.The build of this jigsaw is "Professional" quality.It's extremely easy to use, and changing the blade is done completely without any tools, just very convenient!This saw is very tough, and should last most anyone, many years of use.Even on a daily basis.With some of the larger capacity DeWalt batteries, this jigsaw will run for a very very long time.The rubber over-molded handle makes for a excellent non-slip grip.The adjustable base comes with a removable plastic guard...very handy!This jigsaw has most every option as the best corded jigsaws, it even has a blow tube to clear the surface, to follow a line easily without any material buildup.Everything about this jigsaw is professional quality, and I'm really overly impressed.I really wasn't expecting such a nice and powerful saw, but thats what I got, and I'm really happy with it! Absolutely no buyers remorse.I've been using power tools all my life, and this jigsaw ranks up among the best I've used.Just please note, this is the jigsaw only, no batteries, charger, or case comes with it.For this tool, I'd highly recommend the 4Ah or the 5Ah DeWalt batteries.Very Highly recommended!!!

Bought this jigsaw during Amazon Spring deals from MajorSavings2You. Apparently, vendor sold it too cheap. Supposed to be 2 days delivery. I immediately received a notice that shipping was delayed due to saw being out of stock. Was now 2 weeks later delivery. After 2 weeks got another notice that it was delayed another 2 weeks. Was given an option to cancel the order and get a full refund. Checking online the saw was still available for 2 days delivery but at $50 higher price. I selected to wait for the delivery. After 2 weeks got another notice that it was delayed another 2 weeks and I should probably cancel and take the refund. Elected to wait, mainly to see how long they were going to delay and try to get me to cancel. Finally delivered 8 weeks after I bought it. Saw is good quality and works great. Would not recommend the vendor for anything and will never buy from them again.

Compact, powerful, safe and practical. It is excellent to be able to use it for demanding jobs

Bought this for my son, so I haven't used it myself, but he's pretty handy, as well as discriminating. He's happy with it, and both of us have a bunch of Dewalt cordless tools. I did have a cordless chainsaw just up and die, but that was after 7-8 years of occasional use - that's the only outright failure either of us have experienced, with about 15 of them between us.
