Graphically impressive but plagued with bugs and mind numbing annoyances

Pros:Great graphicsSatisfying shootingGore is goodGood level of customizationCons:Cannot exit out of teleportation to the Psygate (game hub), thus wasting Psygate teleportationLoad screens are mind numbingly long and you cannot skip the dialog in itA.I is completely brain dead, and will do whatever they want and ignore ordersWhen trying to shut and lock doors, sometimes one of your A.I companions will purposely go through the other side of the door.Somestimes A.I won't move and is bugged in a certain areas, even after ordering them to moveCheckpoints are not plentiful and poorly spread outNo manual save (Can do without checkpoints all together if there was a manual save)Cannot skip cutscenesReally, really disappointed with this game. It's flaws are mind numbing, and I cannot get through the second chapter because accidentally wasting a Psygate teleportation, brain dead A.I, buggy A.I, lack of manual save, and sparse checkpoints.

Such a shame!!!

Ohhhh such a shame!!!Such a glorious IP with such rich and engrossing lore. An endless wellspring of characters and conflicts that one would think quality entertaining games could be churned out by the thousands... YET, try as they will, they never get these games right! The graphics are there. The artists capture a grim space hulk very well. The Marines and librarians look great. That's where it all stops! The sounds are abysmal, sounding monaural at times! It's that bad... It's like the budget was spent on the cut scenes and left nothing for foley work forcing them to go to the internet and obtain public domain sound effects from the old Sierra games libraries of 1990 something. The sounds track is ok, but who cares when the guns sound like the original half life?Weapons handle like shooters from the days of yor. The gun play is frustratingly unsatisfying. Enemy AI is non-existent other than peeking around the corner and ghosting all over the map. I don't know if it's intentional or just that the PlayStation 4 can't keep up with this garbage code. I highly doubt it though. I would imagine it performs just as poorly on the beastliest of PCs.Frame rates on the PS4 are an abomination.the whole time I was playing this I could not help but imagine in my mind that this was built on the original Duke Nukem engine.Ahhh such a shame!!! if this game could have only lived up to the THQ showing a few years back, that would have been something. Unfortunately this piece of you-know-what isn't worth $10 in The Bargain Bin.honestly you will have more fun buying some GW miniatures, painting am up and playing this on the table, than wasting your time on this trash.Such a missed opportunity. Buy Shadespire, you will be much happier.I'm done talking about it it makes me ill.

Not Fun. Not Good. But still a 40k game.

I really wanted to like this game. Being a huge 40k fan added to my disappointment. I won't get into to much detail here. But overall the game just feels clunky. Nothing smooth about the combat or AI. The game kind of traps you into the level with finite saves so get ready for that. The difficulty is definitely hard, but feels like they made it dificult for difficulty sake. Its a short game, but you'll wind up playing the same levels over and over becauseof difficulty. The enemies are always random. That could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the person. I liked that about it. The graphics are decent at best. Which i was surprised about because all the hype about this game being so graphically inclined. Why can't anyone make a good FPS 40k game?!?!?!?!

Blah. Overly simple and mind numbing.

I bought this with higher expectations being in the Warhammer franchise and I've got to say it's not a good introductory game. Mindless dungeon shooter with not much else to offer. Walk here...kill everything while you get there...walk there...kill everything.. on constant repeat. Not much depth. The lore is cool but the gameplay is just mind-numbing from the get go. Sure there's collectibles to find but really this is just a game about walking and smashing the trigger.

Disapppointed

The graphics and gameplay both feel dated. The controls are clunky, and unfortunately can't be customized. Also, controlling your squad is a hassle. I watched many YouTube videos on the PC version of the game, and it looked fun. Unfortunately, something was lost in the port to the PS4. I'm dissapointed with this title. The AI for enemies isn't great, but the squad AI is horrid. I'm hopeful that they'll continue to work on this title, but as it stands it looks and feels like a mediocre PS3 title.

Great with friends, feels like the board game. Single player is meh

I've played this game solo, with 2 people, and with 4 people.4 person multiplayer with friends is absolutely fantastic. I cannot recommend this game enough if you have a group to play with, even if they have never heard of warhammer. Enemies come at you in huge numbers, and you will quickly find out that your group needs to work together, even on normal difficulty. Its not a standard shooter, in that you don't need much skill, nor will your skill provide you a massive edge. I got the distinct feeling, as my group was huddling in a hallway blazing away at the horde of oncoming enemies, that there was at least one copy of Space Hulk the tabletop game in the development studio, and that the devs actually played it. It feels like what I've always imagined space hulk was. Matching in with randoms is a toss up.If you are planning to play it solo, I wouldn't recommend this game.

Really cool but difficult 40K game.

Really cool 40K game. Gives you the look and feel of the dark universe of 40K and its weaponry and psychic powers. Very difficult first person shooter however so expect to not punch through it and quickly get Ben on its lowest difficulty level. Save feature could be much better.

Great value

Love the 40k universe. Everything was perfect aside from the disk being loose during shipping. Otherwise I cannot complain!
