As good as its weakest link...

Works well but the safety latch on the hook continually slips out. Everything is heavy duty except the safety spring! Contacted BAC Industries about the problem. They requested photos and then more photos. They finally sent me a replacement hook. Problem is, they sent me a 5/16" Grade 43 hook to replace a 3/8" Grade 70 hook. Pretty lame! I contacted Amazon who apologized and are sending me a replacement. Received the replacement within (2) days. The new chain has a redesigned safety latch which is held captive and cannot slip out. Had more email conversations with BAC Customer Service. They insist that what they sent me is correct. They have no clue as to what's going on and they don't seem to care!

Makes using of the brush grubber even easier - Updated

Used this with the BG-08 grubber, and it couldn't have worked better. I simply clipped it to the grubber and dropped the hoop over the 2" ball I had on my UTV and away I went. The chain held up perfectly well, no signs of stretching or stress to the chain or hoop.Update: I've been using this chain to pull large brush and small trees for over 2 years, with at least a few times leaving me thinking I'd busted the ring off the chain after a frame twisting yank, but the rings and chain still look almost new. Brush Grubber stuff has been the most durable of any tool or thing I've ever purchased.

Great Chain - One problem, but not a show stopper

I really abused this chain, and it put up with it all. The only problem that I have, is that the locking piece it the cheapest little piece of metal, to it bent often. I was able to use my hand to bend it back, but should I really be able to bend anything by hand that is labeled heavy duty? If they fixed this one part, it would be 5 out of 5. And for what they charge, I see no reason why this should not be fixed.

Works great

Used this to pull several cypress trees out of then ground ..worked like a charm using the hitch on my pickup truck pulled 8 trees out no problem

strong chain

works well with the brush grubber BG-08 clamp. The little secure pin on the hook broke off almost immediately. That could be stronger.

It works, but....

Product in use for several months off and on. Generally used with a shrub/clump grubber (4 chains between 2 rings with grabs welded to each link of the chain).Pros:** easy to use** color is very visibleCons:** The round end ring is not very strong. I deformed it easily into an oval with a tractor pulling a (big) bush out (no, I don't jerk the chain... all that does is break things! Just a steady pull). The clump grubber rings were fine, but the ring on the tugger chain was no longer round.** too short. Yes, I could buy a bunch of them to get a longer net chain, but since the ring deforms I don't see the point. I would just buy some of the imported chain w/clevis hooks instead.I think this is fine for light duty tasks, up to maybe a 20-25hp SCUT or CUT, or using a PU. Unlike other BAC Industries products rated "Xtreme", this one is not Xtreme in my opinion. My other BAC Industries Xtreme products have held up fine under the use I put them.

Works good if you don’t over abuse it.

Good brush getter the ring is a little lacking but not a bad product.

Junk, Far from Extreme

I bought this "Extreme" Tugger, thinking this was a heavy duty item. Do not be fooled. This is not a heavy duty item. I was pulling out shrubs, one at a time. IT BROKE!!!!! The large ring that goes over your ball broke. The only worse thing than buying this thing ,(labeled to be able to pull out small trees, and broke on a2 1/2 foot high shrub.) was the company did not stand behind it.They wont give me my money back, nor will they replace it.They want to give me the ring that broke. Well, the chain is solid, and so is the ring. You cant attach it. I asked for them to at least send me a clevis hook, so I can attach it. They said no. ????? What am I going to do with a solid white metal ring?????I showed them a picture of the shrub I was pulling out and it was not big. I was on blacktop, so they said it was "misuse, there is no slippage"How on earth do you pull out a tree then, if this cant handle a shrub?????The ring was not made of steel. It is made of garbage white metal. Another crappy product from Chinese materials.Whatever happened to using quality US steel? That would not have broken. If you are going to label something extreme, use quality materials to make it extreme. They didn't label old chains extreme. The chains made here with our steel. They were extreme, but they didn't need to talk you into it. It was a dam chain. Chains aren't supposed to break pulling out shrubs. I am sorry but this product is garbage, and the company showed me that they aren't worried about their reputation by telling me they wont replace it, or refund me. They want to get your money and run before it breaks.]Buy chain at a hardware store , or yard sale, and get a clevis hook, made here. Then you will have something of quality to pull with. Make it here in the US and I will pay the extra cost for a better product made with superior materials.Product idea, AProduct quality FReputable Company????
