VERY VERY happy with these, GREAT product.
Absolutely LOVE these fans Minke-Aire F843-WH). I got 3 of these, and was a bit worried about the many negative comments about them being "loud". Honestly, I do not know what the heck these people are talking about of doing with them. These are mounted in my main living space (a great room), which I spend the majority of my time in, watching TV, eating... You can barely hear them turned all the way up on the #3 high setting. Sure, you hear some wind noise, but the things are swinging around at propeller type speeds and pushing HUGE volumes of air around, of course you will hear some air noise. But, what I do NOT hear is any motor noise whatsoever, NONE. Better yet, at the low and medium settings, not only do I not hear motor noise, I also do not hear wind noise either. At medium, you hear nothing and don't know 3 of them are running unless you look up and see them spinning, and yet you feel a ton of air blowing around. These replaced 3 older 25 year old fans, and they are like night and day with the amount of air they move, and the amount of noise. My old ones had a bit of a hum from the motors as well as the blades made a bunch of wind noise while not moving much at all. These blow (no pun intended!) them away! They also look fantastic. VERY happy with these.

Easy to install and super quiet
We have had the same traditional fans for 20+ years and they had become noisy, not to mention not looking very nice, and they use quite a bit more power. We got this Minka-Aire one for the styling and being very quiet and a reasonable price. It went in quite easily, which is good since a 16 foot ceiling. The old one was a bit of a pain to remove since you cannot remove the cowling to 1st disconnect the wires - it hangs on the cowling and so you have to hold the whole unit while unscrewing the wire nuts. I was impressed that this one has a nice hanger bracket which you attach 1st, then attach the ball into it, and then connect the wires, closing up the cowling last. So, very easy. Wiring is simple as it has labels on the receiver (to motor and to line). Had to cut the wire since made for a very long down tube. The look is great with the motor concealed under the blades. The sound is fantastic - super quiet on all 3 speeds, but basically silent on low and medium.Remote is easy to use, but kind of irritating having a remote with light controls on a fan with no lights.Like others, I think the reversing control could have been put on the remote vs. a flip switch on the motor.

I LOVE THIS FAN!
I recently moved offices for my psychotherapy practice and the new space had iffy control of the temperature. Being a woman of a certain age (ahem...hotflashes) I needed a way to discreetly control the temperature so I researched ceiling fans and bought the white version of this fan. Imust admit that the first one had a bum receiver but I called the company and they quicklysent a replacement part. My handyman was so impressed with this fan that he bought one for his home. It is absolutely silent. I can inobtrusively change the speed mid-sentence with the remote. It is BEAUTIFUL but blends in without drawingattention to itself. EVERYONE who notices it says how pretty it is. My office is furnished in an antique/eclectic style and it fits right it in. (I even have a desk that was owned by Yogi Berra that I bought at auction, so there!) Yes, it is a little more expensive than the spider-likemonstrosities that you can buy at a big box store but over a lifetime of silent, smooth air circulation, it is well worth the difference. I'm buyingone for my home kichen now.

Attractive and functional
This is an attractive fan with an innovative blade design. The blades are molded plastic that serve the same purpose as any fan blade (they move air), but they also serve as the motor housing. Very clever. The motor is fairly quiet, and the blades move a lot of air even at low speed. My only complaint about the fan is that those cleverly designed fan blades are a glossy white plastic, and they look it. The fan would be much more attractive if the blades were matte white. I'm not a fan of glossy plastic anything, but if you don't mind the look, you'll probably love this fan.

Awesome Fan! This fan is delightful
Awesome Fan! This fan is delightful. It can move a lot of air (we used the minimum length downrod and it is still very effective) and is extremely quiet. It looks sleek and modern and yes, as some reviewers have noted, the blades are shiny but I don't think this detracts and may even slow down the dust build up (time will tell). The installation was easy, and if you have ever installed a fan before you will know what to do. The only difference from a "normal" fan installation is that the blades must be installed first (the book does say this) due to the way they attach. The hardest part of the install was removing the old, flush mounted fan from the ceiling. No complaints about this fan, just praise!

Great Fan - Moves Large Volume of Air - Silent - Looks Great
Great Fan - Moves a LARGE volume of air AND it Looks sleek. The air movement is well dispersed so it feels like a natural Breeze and Not like a 'fan' blowing air right on you. With it on High it creates a huge amount of movement in the area.- while on the low speed it moves air but is less 'detectable' which is great. The fan makes No noise from the motor, you only can hear the quiet sound of the air moving. The plastic of the blades do get dust on them so you'd want to think about how tall a ceiling you would install this fan. You will ant to easily be able to go up on a chair or ladder to be able to wipe off dust. But with the amount of air it moves, how quiet it is and the good looking design I do not mind wiping the blades after 3 months to get off the dust.
