Maple Valley Base Game by KTBG, Strategy Board Game

I was introduced to this game at a convention and have absolutely loved it. The gameplay is fairly simple, with it being a worker placement and resource management game, but the theme, art, and general feel are all great. I like the components and the replayability is great due to varied set ups. I even enjoyed the solo mode, with super fun “scores” based around what you did in your play. Highly recommended!

This game is adorable! The play is easy and the instructions are easy to follow. The artwork is super cute and it's a sequel to Creature Comforts. The game play is similar, but there's enough change to make it different and familiar. The strategy comes in playing the cards that will get you where you need to go to complete favours.

This is a deceptively cute strategy game. It's the same company as Creature Comforts and I was surprised how much more strategy was involved in this. Super cute art as always I'd consider it a step up from Creature Comforts in difficulty

I really wanted to love this game, as it is thematically very cute and kid-friendly. There are elements of the game that are fun for the whole family. But it is just so much work to play. When we finish a game I am more exhausted than satisfied. There are so many game pieces, so many rules, and so many different components to scoring, it is tiring to keep track of it all. It’s not horrible, but it’s not the best I’ve seen. And for a game that has such an innocent kid-friendly theme, I just don’t feel like the complicated game-play matches the light theme.

Got this game for my granddaughters (8 & 10) and myself to play. I set it up and read the directions before they arrived. An hour and 3 you tube videos later, I still couldn’t figure it out. Not being really a game person, I decided I didn’t even want to learn it at this point. Let a friend who is a gamer look at it and he returned it saying you need a college degree to play this. It’s way too hard and, just my opinion, too much work remembering all the rules! It’s well made and really cute but it will probably never get out of the box again. Waste of money for me. Can’t understand all the great reviews.

The corners and the top of the box are damaged. The game seems really fun!
