Be careful with using the plastic parts on this motor.
Be careful mounting the motor on the back of your boat. Certain mounting hardware that used to be metal are now plastic on these new motors. Bad decisions in this area from Minn Kota. Overall a dependable product over the years.

Sturdy.
Seems to be pretty sturdy. The handle comes separate so make sure the metal piece sticking out doesn't get banged up before you put the handle on. Haven't used it yet.

Arrived before Christmas. Good motor!
Bought this to replace the old one on my 16 foot Coleman Scanoe. Arrived in a timely fashion. Put my battery connector on it so it would work with my plug system. I have used this 6 times since I purchased it and it works great.Paired it with a Bullnose plastic rudder, and the Newport battery plug system, and it does what I need it to do. We'll see how long this one lasts.

Much better than a 30lb thrust
Great motor. Battery life, battery indicator, variable speed, great options. Glad I purchased. Absolutely does suck in reverse with stock prop like a few reviews say. Got Kipawa 853 prop installed, but haven’t made it to the water yet. Anxious to see the difference in props! I’ll update.

Be Careful
I bought this motor on August 14th. I eagerly installed the Minn Kota on to my boat. I was using this setup in a fresh water pond. The motor worked well in forward but gravitated and vibrated like crazy in reverse and woukd onl6 go at a snails pace. I tried adjusting shart heights, etc. I asked the seller for help and basically was informed that the motor is non-refundable but at no time provided troubleshooting. I originally asked for help and not a return. Getting through to Johnson motors for warranty work is painful. I ended up buying a new prop and installing it which fixed the issue. What I learned is if you buy from this seller and the motor doesn't work, out of the box, you can't return the item and you will get little or no help from the seller. So be careful because this item is not returnable even if it's doa. Total bs.
