P8 Max

Great small fans with great airflow. Pretty quiet for how much they push, but definitely not silent, which is okay — if you want quiet, get a “silent” fan. 4 pins though, so won’t work in 3 pin applications.

Much better fan than the other model I purchased and returned. Moves a lot more air and is just as quiet too.

good value. I only get range 1500-4600RPM (PWM 25%-100%) in my high-static? application as exhaust fan for a stuffed small drive rack (the Rack-Choice with 5 removeable trays). This fan is supposed to run down to 500RPM but I have never seen that. This fan is excellent to replace the noisy OEM IFF you route the fan control out of the drive rack, to a separate fan controller like the motherboard or a manual PWM fan-control card or dial. This fan is not really happy with 0-12v control since it tends to gallop (speeds up and down in a cycle that varies with voltage, typically full-cycle 5-10seconds, but it is not loud). I assume the fan internal PWM drive circuit is dropping dead and waking up when you lower the 12v supply voltage. PWM control is as-expected, good. At 100% this fan is plenty loud and flow is good, but I do not need that, except for calibration and emergencies. Good PWM fan for active temperature control with high-static, keeps the noise down most times.

I installed this fan as an emergency replacement for a damaged OEM CPU fan in a Dell Inspiron 3471 running an i9-9900 processor. My concerns going in were whether the Dell BIOS embedded controller would accept a third party fan signal — it did without any issues. Passed POST on first boot with no fan errors thrown. Performance has been impressive. CPU temperatures are sitting at 40°C under gaming load with a maximum of 46°C during extended sessions running demanding titles like Pragmata and Marvel Rivals. The fan is currently running at around 3,300-4,400 RPM under load and the Dell EC is reading and controlling it correctly via PWM. Installation was straightforward — fit the existing Dell shroud without modification. The 4-pin PWM connector is compatible with Dell's proprietary fan header. For anyone trying to replace a Dell OEM CPU fan on a budget and worried about BIOS compatibility — this fan works. Solid build quality, effective cooling, and plug and play compatible with Dell's embedded controller firmware. Verified Purchase Use Case: CPU fan replacement in Dell Inspiron 3471 with i9-9900

These fans are optimized to blow more than a normal amount of air into a restricted path. At that, and only that, they succeed. I have four of them, and they all have the same pros and cons: The pros: 1) If used as an exhaust or an unfiltered intake fan, they move a better than normal amount of air. You can feel the difference on your hand. 2.) They are almost as quiet as a normal Arctic fan. 3.) They are inexpensive. The cons: 1) They don't suck through a filter very well at all. In fact, they are worse than a normal Arctic fan in that setup. 2) At high speed, they have an annoying high-pitched whine. 3) Like the rest of their Arctic brethren, they are fragile. You'd better use a pair of grill guards with each. Internal wire or external finger, if contact is made, you will lose a blade. Maybe even some blood, these things are sharp. Having said all of that, I like them.I use them wherever I need a fan blowing into a restricted space or I need more air in an unfiltered location. In a usage case where you need these exact parameters, they'll do fine. But at this price point, there are 80mm fans that are either quieter or move more air (but not both.) So as the headline suggests, choose wisely. Just inspect them upon arrival and treat them gently and you'll be fine.

These fans are awesome so far. I can't believe the pressure and volume of air these little things put out and they are fairly quiet as well.

Great balance of speed/pressure and noise. The faster a fan is the louder it will be so 5000 RPM is going to be on the louder side, but it's a good balance. This thing forces a surprising amount of air through my very narrow server case filled with obstructions. Previous 3000 RPM fans without static pressure optimization couldn't even get close to what this does in my setup. I have four of them and at full speed they are definitely noisy but not excessive.

Put this in my old school HP case from 2009. Works well I can feel it moving the heat out! It can get loud if its spinning fast so you might have to adjust the rpms.

I chose this over the quieter version as it had a more similar airflow performance at full speed to the OEM CPU fan in my Dell Optiplex. Very glad I did, as it can keep temperatures below thermal throttling levels while being far, far quieter than the original fan. At idle or while doing basic tasks like browsing or office work, it’s all but silent - certainly quieter than a HDD. And during intensive work like encoding or gaming, it’s about 50% quieter. A great upgrade.

excellent swap out for lower-power server setups. much quieter than the stock fans, use less power so they happy to run multiple off a single regular motherboard header, but they still max out near 5000RPM without excessive noise for quite good airflow. Seems like a perfect upgrade for 80mm server builds that don't need jet engine airflow but still need more than a Noctua 80mm would offer without adding much more noise. Time will tell how reliable they are, but i've used Arctic in the past in normal builds and they lived the life of the machine, but in a hot 24/7 server it might be a different story. we will see.

Läuft und ist schön leise :)
