Scotty is the best.
Scotty down riggers are the best. I had a pair for ten years that I sold to one of my fishing buddies and now he is using them. My new electric Scotty down riggers work better than I expected. I have been offshore fishing, using downriggers for over 50 years.

Would buy again
Worked has advertised. BUTLost my rig, weight, snubber, clip on the first day. The red beads did not stop and snapped my downrigger brade.

Does not come with stainless rod holder! Picture is not accurate
In the picture it shows a stainless steel rod holder. This is not correct, it comes with a plastic rod holder. I just bought two 2106B. Scotty said they no longer provide stainless rod holders as they were breaking when using them. So buyer beware picture does not match product you will receive. Also you will still pay the same price no discount for the step down to plastic.

Epic fail...every time.
The downriggers are great for a non water environment. If you want to look at them in your living room, or garage, they are great. If you actually use them on the water, beware:The digital counters will fail within weeks, if not days. There is no way around it.The pressure plate on the HP series is extremely tough to tune appropriately.The motors will lock up without warning.If you want Scotty d/r’s, stick with the 1106. I’ve gone through 16 of the high performance, and they have not attempted to fix any of the issues. Do not buy these.
