Fluentish: Language Learning Planner & Journal

I just knew her as the Pimsleur lady
It wasn't until AFTER I ordered the journal that I learned this woman isn't just peddling an app, she actually applies to this real life. I then went and checked out her YT channel and I am so irritated that I didn't know who she was before! This journal is exactly what I've been needing. I love how she maps out the goals so that you can see the visual of why you're learning. I love the tracker so that you can see how often you're keeping up your studying and practice, the prompts, the journaling, the verb conjugation, I love everything. I've had this book all but 10 minutes and I'm already planning on buying another for my 3rd language. My only "complaint" is I wish that there were more pages for verb conjugations BUT I have already found a journal dedicated to nothing but words. It's the Pikka journal that can pick up where this journal left off.I have a feeling that I'll be able to look back on this in a couple of years and actually see my progress and I love that for me. Jo and this journal are super motivating and I have a new outlook on my journey thanks to this journey that helps me visualize my dream of being somewhat bilingual. Highly recommend.

great language learning tool
I have been using this journal since it arrived on 11/8, and I have some initial thoughts:I like the hardback cover, and I like the blue and yellow colors (perfect because I'm learning Swedish). At first I didn't like the three bookmark ribbons, but after using it for a couple days I realized that the ribbons are very useful, and I see why they were added. I've been flipping back and forth between the sections a lot.So far the best aspect of this journal has been the habit tracker, it is easier to stay accountable and consistent when using it. I also have been going back to the monthly 'my goals' section, for when I need more direction on what I should actually be focusing on.I've been less sure of how to use the 'workspace' section. I'm not very familiar with the notes/highlights/questions format, but I have only filled out a couple pages so far. Regardless of the format, I like that the notes are in the same centralized place as the habit tracker and the goals. The new language section hasn't been used much yet. For the vocab and grammar, I've noticed that I tend to just put it in the workspace instead of flipping over to the new language section, as I'm doing my lesson or watching a video. That being said, I haven't really dived into Swedish grammar yet, so I do foresee using the new language section more later on.I am most excited to use the prompts/journal section. I like that the prompts aren't at the top of the page, instead they are all grouped together by their level of complexity. Journaling in a new language is kind of intimidating to me, and I think being able to choose from different complexity levels helps it to be more accessible. So far this journal has helped me be consistent, and it has been a good reminder of my goals. Fluentish has become a valuable tool for my language learning journey, and I've already started to see real progress. I would recommend Fluentish to anyone who is learning a new language, or as a gift to someone who is learning a new language.

If you like bullet journaling, you'll love this
I've been studying a second language for the better part of 2 decades, but lately have needed help to make the jump from "can read signs and ask/answer basic questions" to "can have a real conversation". Duolingo just hasn't been useful to me because I already have a good grammar & vocabulary base, and I found it hard to progress forward by just doing the digital equivalent of flash cards. I really like journaling and thought the concept for this one was interesting. I feel like (at least for me) when it comes to learning a language, both putting ink on paper and being able to physically flip through my notes are super helpful for retaining information. So far, I'm really enjoying it; I like the breakdown of each section to keep things organized, so it's not just chaotically scribbling everything all on the same page. However, it IS basically just a glorified bullet journal. So when it's full, I think I will buy a blank dot grid notebook and set up sections based on which aspects of this journal that I'm using the most.

Amazing Way to Learn a Language & Keep on Track
I have been working on learning a new language (Italian), and I've struggled with staying consistent and really growing my knowledge. This journal is perfect for learning! It has everything I need - goals, space to practice/take notes, a vocab section, verb conjugation section, and a journaling section. This has already helped me so much - it was exactly what I was looking for to stay on track with my language learning! I will be getting one of these for every language I'm working on for sure.

Language Learning in One Place
After going through Fluentish twice becoming acquainted with the set up of the journal/language learning tool - I'm in love. I've been learning languages for 20 years in different settings - elementary school through college, living abroad, and private tutors, in 3 different languages. In school, everything was organized and provided for us. Learning on my own has been tougher b/c I always lose items, take notes on scraps of paper that disappear in a bag or email myself links for language practice that I then forget about. This book can hold all of those references and ties in journaling at the back portion. It's a great tool with structure, but it's also your own journal that you can use how you please. I'm not big on habit tracking b/c its always been in a separate notebook and I have to not only do the habit but then also remember to track it....if all of my language habits are in the same place as the journaling and resources....Boom - Done! Looking forward to using one Fluentish journal for every language I learn :)

great tool to learn a language
This is an amazing book!! The pages are thick so there is no bleed through from the other side when using markers and fountain pens. The covers are durable to you take it on the go. The sections are broken down to help learn in small sections. My favorite part is the journaling section with prompts that encourages you to use your new language skills in a fun and inactive method with out feeling like it is studying.

What a tool to keep you consistent!
This is the kind of tool that will help you do the work every day. 💪 It takes just a little bit of creativity to customize your study routine, but then the follow-up is smooth! Love it! ❤️ I am on day #6 since I started using this planner/tracker/journal and I am enjoying it a lot! I recommend! When I finish it with my current target language, I may want to start all over again with another language. 😅

The language learning method you absolutely need!
First of all, the quality of the book is just insane! it looks like it was meticulously crafted to make every detail count. At its core, this book ingeniously combines structure and practical techniques that will help me follow and review my improvement, discover myself in a different language, and unlock a new way of thinking through prompts that the book generously provides. As a culinary enthusiast, I believe that consistent use of this method will elevate my food storytelling in different languages!I’ve just filled in the first two sections and I’m already visualizing how this is going to roll, I definitely recommend it!
