Amazing reel for the price
I heard Daiwa USA will not service this reel. I found a few parts that I wanted for backup from Daiwa USA. This reel is the same as Daiwa Tanacom 500. The only drawback at first was trying to read display from different languages but Google translator fixed that. I would highly recommend this reel.

Size is just right for muttons and mangroves
I purchased this for specific species (mutton and mangrove snapper) in the Atlantic Ocean in 120 to 230 feet deep, using very long leaders. I have 3 other diawa electric reels so I have history with diawa quality.The reel arrived as described on a timely basis. I spooled it with power pro slick 8, 50lb test. It took about 500 yards. This will put a pile of fish in my boat. Pictures for size comparison, show a normal size light bulb and the reel in my hand.

DOA - Will not hold a charge.
I had high expectations for the Daiwa S500JP Electric Reel 23 Leo Blitz, but unfortunately, it has been nothing short of a disappointment. The reel refuses to charge properly, and despite following the instructions carefully and troubleshooting, it's completely dead. I’ve tried multiple charging methods, and the charging light doesn't even come on.For a premium-priced product, this is incredibly frustrating, especially since I was looking forward to its power and convenience while fishing. I’ve had electric reels before, and this is by far the most unreliable one. I contacted customer support, but they were slow to respond, and when they finally did, they just suggested more troubleshooting steps that didn’t help at all.In the end, I’m stuck with an expensive, non-functional reel that I can't use. I regret purchasing it and would definitely not recommend it to anyone.
