Not particularly easy to use
Yes, it’s Alessi and yes, it’s cool, but it’s actually quite tricky to use. I thought it would make grating Parmesan easier and it hasn’t but I still love it because it’s Alessi!

Style over substance
It's over designed. But if you must have a designer this and a designer that, then great. It looks good and to some, that's all that matters

What did we do before we had it?
Got this as a side present for my husband at Christmas. He loves all things Alessi and we eat a lot of pasta. He hasn't stopped marvelling at it yet. Very handy to use at the table, no mess, and a nice looking object.

Grate stuff!
Fits beautifully in my palm to grate parmesan. The grater blade fits snugly and grates easily. It pops out to clean with the right knack and little difficulty. The base is small and balances not quite where I expect but is stable. It cleans nicely in the dishwasher, seems sturdy enough to cope with my brother-in-law (yes, it was him who broke my last one!). It looks good on the table. I really like this grater; its the best we've ever had (including winding-handle, handle and 'cheese cellar', upright versions, metal, plastic, all)

Easy to use and a lot less mess
Saw one of these being used in an Italian restaurant to serve Parmesan cheese. Easy to use and a lot less mess.
