Nikwax Tech Wash / TX.Direct Wash In Twin Pack

Does exactly what it says on the tin - washes in and waterproofs. Needs doing twice a year for myself, riding in all weathers and most days, maybe 11-12k miles a year. Never used anything significantly better at the price either!

This is fabulous. I have been using it on my winter coats which were no longer fully Showerproof. These products have made my coats look like new and perform like new. There is no odour with either product and only a 30° wash is needed. Saves a fortune in cleaning bills - or new coats Highly recommended

I've used these to wash a cycling jacket and motorcycle gear and it seems to work pretty well. I was a bit disappointed to see some grubby marks still on a beige textile motorbike jacket after the wash, but a quick test with a spray bottle of water showed the water was beading off the material again. Pros: Seems to re-waterproof material quite well (water beads off straight after the wash) Cons: The washing action doesn't seem particularly effective

I used this on an old hi-viz jacket that had started to let in water, I did not think it would work on a hi-viz, BUT it worked great as usual as I have always used this for my outdoor gear that needs to be waterproof. I would recommend it to all, very easy to use just put your jacket or 2 in the washer, making sure the soap dispenser is clean ie no powder residue at all, add ( green cap TECH WASH) 3 full caps for 1 jacket or 6 for 2 jackets, put on a 30 or 40 degree wash. when the first wash has finished. DO NOT REMOVE them from washer. THEN use the second one ( purple Cap WASH IN ) same as green, 3 caps or 6 for 2 items, WASH ON DELICATES AT 30 DEGREES, when all finished let it/them dry naturally . The Tech Wash ( GREEN CAP ) is for cleaning, and the Wash In ( PURPLE CAP ) is the waterproofing, if you follow the instructions on both bottles you cannot go wrong. HINT 1 = TO MAKE SURE YOUR WASHER IS CLEAN RUN A WASH CYCLE TO GET RID OF ANY OLD POWDER IN DISPENCER AND MACHINE. HINT 2 = AFTER YOU USE THE TECH WASH AND WASH IN, RUN YOUR WASHER TO CLEAN IT OUT. HINT 3 = I DID partly dry mine on a delicate in my dryer, CHECKING every 5 mins..

I have a jacket which was originally waterproof but it had been washed a few times in ordinary detergent and had lost its waterproofing. When I recently wore it during a downpour, I was literally soaked to the skin. The jacket offered no protection whatsoever. I bought this product which consists of two items - 1) a detergent especially for waterproof garments which does not remove waterproofing and 2) a bottle of waterproofing liquid. I have used both products on 2 jackets. I did this in my washing machine so they were very easy to use. They appear to have worked well although I have not worn them in a downpour as yet.

Washed the soap powder drawer first before use, advised on bottle to remove any surplus washing powder/detergent from washing machine. So easy to use, didn't even have to let jackets dry between processes. I treated 2 jackets, one about 4 years old, the other about 6 years old, plenty of product left to do at least another 4 jackets. They have turned out brilliant, water beads off as it should. I did not put the jackets in the tumble dryer either, some products you need to do this to activate repellent, but not with nikwax, the jackets have dried naturally and are water resistant, just as I wanted and as advertised. Would definitely advise to try it.

Very pleased with the pre-wash which thoroughly cleaned my old Timberberland soft-shell jacket in the washing machine. Then ran the synthetic 30 degree machine program adding the waterproofing agent. Let the jacket dry overnight and was amazed by the complete water repellency when I ran part of the jacket under a tap. I then cycled to work in a light drizzle of rain and, after ten minutes, the jacket was soaked and wet to the touch. I don't know how it's possible?! In summary, it's fine if someone chucks a bucket of water at you, but a mild drizzle will penetrate. At least I'm 50% better offer than when the jacket was completely non-waterproof.

Used to clean and waterproof winter textile motorbike jacket and pants. Just add a couple caps of each solution to clean and then separately waterproof. Seems to work ok, need it to rain to confirm how waterproof it is. There is still enough in the cans to do another treatment if I need it or if it needs to be done in a couple years.

Have been using Nikwax for about 20 years and it is brilliant. First got it for Goretex jacket (recommended by Goretex at the time) and since on other wet weather gear. Haven’t found anything better yet.

Cleaned my rainjacket which was wetting out, now beads water well and better than when it was first purchased. Very happy with this product.
