If you paint, or even if you just admire paintings, this book is absolutely gorgeous. The artwork images are crisp and beautiful, and I’ve discovered many artists I hadn’t known about. Lovely as a coffee table book too!

Beautiful collection and opportunity to learn about artists who have captured the beauty of California over the years. The featured pieces are also interesting from a historical perspective...to see parts of CA that have since been paved and built over.

Came packed in shrink wrap so it was pristine. Excellent book, lots of history and information and many color plates. Shipped rapidly and well packed.

The prints and the narratives are very good. I am having fun reading it. Still, hate to say it, comparing to "California Light a century of landscapes", the qualitis of the artworks are, well, a bit less to my liking.

Wow what a wonderful selection of paintings of the California coast! The artists featured in this large book are really accomplished and the works are inspiring particularly if would like to go paint the ocean and coastal scenery. They are all beautiful.

Wonderful book. A must for the avid plein air painter.

A follow-up volume to Stern and Siple`s earlier book “California Light” this is in some ways more of the same.It's a very beautiful and quite weighty hardback featuring the work of artists from the California Art Club; as before there are some 200 or so paintings in large, full-colour plates, some crossing the page or presented in double-page spreads.It is mainly contemporary mainstream painting with a few pieces from earlier historical periods showing the rich association the Art Club's members past and present have with California and it's colourful, often dramatic and atmospheric coastline.It's a shame there is no “Look inside” option – like it's predecessor this is a lovely book to leaf through and some of the work is of outstanding quality.An excellent addition to any art library.

This is the kind of book that will set your heart aflutter. Every page is gold. One of the few books on Amazon that comes shrink wrapped in almost pristine condition. I only wish the other books from this publisher, California Light is available.
