Need to know - they work. When ordering a receiver extension I notice these hitch tighteners and thought that that would be great if they actually work so ordered a pair. They don't cost that much. After receiving both the receiver extension and the tighteners I installed them and they totally eliminated the clanging and banging that goes on from a loose fit. I've used wedges before but they only worked for short time then were not much use. These work very differently and are very heavy steel so should last a long time. I haven't had them long or used them a lot but I highly recommend them, unless of course you like the noisey clanging from an untightened hitch. I don't.

Really does the trick. No more rattling or clunking from my hitch. It's surprising how much less tiring a long drive is without these sounds. I'd gladly pay a few bucks more for stainless U-bolts and nuts. That would make this a 5-star review.

This hitch stabilizer is built like a brick house. It is extremely sturdy and the fit on my hitch is absolutely perfect. I recommend this to anyone. The U-Bolt is rubberized plastic coated and the stabilizer is flawlessly powder coated. The stabilizer comes with 4 nuts, 2 thick washers and two lock washers. The nuts are black to match the stabilizer. The nuts take an 11/16 socket or wrench to tighten or loosen. Using my trailer hitch, I carry a handicap electric scooter that weighs in the neighborhood of 300 lbs. The carrier with a folding ramp, weighs between 80 - 100 lbs. Using this stabilizer, it reduced the rocking and jarring of my loaded carrier to zero. I now have such a smooth ride that I’m still trying to get used to. I’ve installed the thick washer first followed by a nut, then the lock washer ending with the final nut. Rock solid, does not loosen. You can purchase a similar product for twice the price, but, you will not receive a better or more sturdier product than this one.

This one little device absolutely transforms towing. It installs in 5 minutes or less with all hardware included and completely eliminates all rattle, banging, clanging, all the horrible noises your truck makes when towing. Feels so much more stable on the highway, prevents vibrations and is far easier on your suspension because the trailer can’t travel the wiggle room of the hitch before slamming down when going over bumps. This product being as cheap as it is is crazy for how much value you get out of it. Couldn’t recommend enough if you tow with your truck. The rust in my photos is surface-level and insignificant, didn’t pop up until many many months of harsh-weather abuse. Worst case scenario, throw on some new bolts for 50 cents in a year or two. Best case scenario, use some rustoleum annually. I’ve had this same stabilizer on two of my trucks now and it’s held up fantastically.

Fantastic quality. Well built and sturdy. Unfortunately this item is not compatible with B&W Tow and Stow hitches, so I had to return.
