4 year old loved them

Bought for our 4 year old. He loved them. Easy to follow instructions and they lasted MONTHS. I was genuinely surprised how long they lasted with minimal effort. Tank did get a little grimy and you can't really clean them out.

Great little gift 😊

The media could not be loaded. Tii was bought for my 8 year old for his birthday. We set it up on Sunday and after patiently waiting by day 3 I could see at least 4 of them! Today I can't count them, there's that many. They're teeny tiny and quite hard to see at first. We waited two days to feed them and now they're all swimming around. My tip would be to be very patient, leave them alone we've kept them somewhere sunny. Looking forward to watching them grow!

Kids love it

My nephew loves this but I've had to mark down because of the price. I think it's just a little too high.

Aqua Dragons growth

The media could not be loaded. Here shown is the aqua dragons growth after 2 weeks. I’m happy that they are swimming and are doing well. The instructions to look after them is easy to follow and there is enough food to feed them. This is a low maintenance pet to keep.

The difference between Sea Monkeys and Aqua Dragons

I bought a Sea Monkeys 'Ocean Zoo' as well as a Aqua Dragons 'Underwater World' as Christmas presents for my daughters - kind of a 'same but different' sort of deal to prevent arguments, assuming that they were pretty much identical besides a few aesthetic differences. This assumption was incorrect, as there are some very big differences between the two products. Both tanks were set up in exactly the same environment - literally side by side - and using the same bottled spring water. The instructions included in each set were followed to the letter. The setup of the Aqua Dragons 'Underwater World' was quick and easy - you add just one sachet, containing the salts (and other water conditioners) and eggs combined, into the water, and that's it. You're done. In a few days, your Aqua Dragons hatch. That said, caring for your Aqua Dragons once they've hatched is more laborious than those of the Sea Monkeys 'Ocean Zoo' set - oxygenating the water daily with a pipette and feeding every two days. In addition, the quality of the Aqua Dragons 'Underwater World' is somewhat lacking - the food provided wasn't miscible, and so floated on the surface of the water, which is probably why the Aqua Dragons all died within a few weeks. A quick email to the address provided in the set was all it took to obtain free replacement sachets of food and eggs (albeit with a large dose of condescension from the representative), and we already have a second healthy batch on the go, with food that seems to be perfectly miscible with water. On the other hand, the Sea Monkeys 'Ocean Zoo' required a little more in the way of setup - the salts and water conditioners come in a separate sachet and needs to be added a full 24 hours before the sachet containing the eggs, and then it takes a lot longer than the Aqua Dragons to hatch - we're talking potentially weeks rather than days here. Once they've hatched though, care is minimal and rather easy - you don't have to oxygenate the water because the tank is better designed, and you only need to feed them once a week. In addition, Sea Monkeys would seem to be hardier than Aqua Dragons, as our first batch are healthy and large and still going strong, and everything just seems to be more 'grown up' and of better quality - even the magnifying lenses in the side of the tank work.Overall, it's kind of a 'tortoise and the hare' kind of thing, and I'd recommend Sea Monkeys over Aqua Dragons based on the quality, reliability, and ease of caring for them after the initial setup; however, I appreciate that some children lose interest in things quickly, so Aqua Dragons might be the better choice for children that expect quick results and constantly feel the need to do something - just be sure to manage expectations because Aqua Dragons seem to be more prone to premature death than Sea Monkeys are.

Definate adult supervision required if you want them to hatch and grow!

I bought these for my partner (40 going on 12) as a bit of fun for christmas after she mentioned that they looked "really cool" after seeing them online. We've had them going eight days now, and I'll be honest I really didn't think we'd get ANYTHING to hatch, as the whole thing sounds very gimmicky. However 2 feeds later and plenty of air pumping we now have what do actually look like cute little water dragons. Our top tips, for successful dragons are (especially for parents...)1. Ignore the instructions, and throw them in the bin (seriously) 😉2. Use fresh bottled water at room tempriture to start with (NOT tap water)3. Pour the whole sachet of dragon eggs into the tank and pop the lid on. Place the tank for the first two days in the living room, or somewhere its not too hot or cold. Not near a window to start with! (LEAVE THEM ALONE)4. After two days we put our hatchlings in our kitchen window, which is slightly cooler than our living room. You could just see them if you looked really carefully.5. Supervise your kids, if you overfeed or try and rush the hatching process, it will fail like so many other people have said. Have patience.6. IMPORTANT... Five to six pumps of air at a regular times per day to air the water with the pipette provided.7. Hopefully on day 8, like us you'll be able to see little dragons develop, you will see they have now formed dragon like tails!!!Regarding food, we didn't even feed the hatchlings until three days after hatching, and only used a level spoon of the food (with the spoon provided) it totally covered the top of the water. You don't really need to feed them again until all of that has dissappeared after two or so days.Hopefully that little guide will help with parents and kids frustrations at nothing happening 😉All in all value for money, a great novalty present that has everything you need to grow water dragons. The tank doesn't leak, for what you should use, the food should last week's, and by day eight you'll lose count of how many of these fascinating little creatures there are.Would recommend and would definately buy again for someone as a novalty present. Parental supervision definately required and lots of patience.
