What is the plastic bit on the back below the collar for?

That's for inserting your yacht or race ID when competing in a regatta.

Hi is this the 2018 jacket or 2019? I’m after the 2018 in navy - they changed the colour in 19 to a lighter ‘bluer’ navy. Many thanks. Ben.

It looks very dark blue to me and looks like my 2018 jacket. Why don't you look on HH web site to see how the new shade of blue compares. If the jacket you are looking at is a good price then it possibly is last years stock

Any tips on how to get rid of the creases, slightly sceptical to use towel & iron & med temp tumble dryer. Hmmm. Thanks

Best to wear it and your body heat will help to take them out. I wouldn't use towel n iron... if you have a steamer it might help.

Is the hood detachable ?

Hello, no it’s not detachable. However, I would highly recommend the jacket.
