Sauder Orchard Hills Dresser, Carolina Oak finish

Heavy wood, some pieces seem very strong. Very heavy package! 70 LBS. I loved the instruction manual. Usually instruction manuals are just like factory made, you know? Very empty, and not clear.... Sauder is terrific, and funny. They write little jokes and CLEARLY explain instructions very well. Very impressed. I will buy Sauder again.

I was looking for an inexpensive oak dresser when I found this one. I love the look of it and it was the perfect height and exactly what I was looking for. It took a few hours to put together, but the instructions were easy to follow and understand. I am very pleased with this dresser.

Easy to put together, great instructions!

Dresser came in great condition by UPS and was well packaged with structural angle high density cardboard to protest the edges. It was further protected by a heavy plastic wrapper. The dresser arrived without any damage.The package is very heavy at 113 pounds. My hand truck was handy and I helped the driver unload the package.Following the directions explicitly, studying the diagrams, and by laying the various pieces out in groups according to their number/letter designations the assembly was pretty simple but was fairly intense. It took about 4 hours.As a professional, I do not believe power tools should be used for this kind of assembly. It would be far too easy to over-tighten and strip the fasteners in the wood. Ours turned out perfectly with no problems at all. A #2 Phillips screwdriver and a hammer for the small nails was all that was necessary as the instructions said. Use power tools at your peril.We now have a beautiful dresser and extra storage that looks great with the rest of our other oak bedroom furniture.I am so pleased with how this project turned out and may buy another one in the near future.

Yes, it takes some time to put together. Yes, it is awkward putting it together with only one person. But it is sturdy and looks great. Quite often, items like this look cheap. This product, just like many other Sauder products, surpasses my expectations. It's small enough that it doesn't take up an entire wall, yet large enough that it holds everything I need it to. A word of caution: Take your time putting it together. Organize and lay out all pieces and follow the instructions. There's no need to rush through it. I spent a few hours putting it together and took a break halfway through just to clear my head (like I said, it takes some time to put together).

It's a two person job to put the dresser up.

Absolute garbage. Confusing instructions. Very difficult to put together. Parts were almost entirely unlabeled. Wood broke in several spots. As of writing this, two drawers are useless. Front of drawers barely connected to rest of drawer, will need to be wood glued on before I can use the handles to any effect. Handles are very very cheap material and almost snapped while screwing on. They feel more like plastic than metal. Drawers more likely to break or go in crooked. Overall extremely unsatisfied with this product and I cannot under any circumstance justify paying this much money for such a downright trash product. It's so bad I want to burn it, because I feel like that would be easier than trying to return this, as that would involve taking it apart again. For $212, you'd think this thing would have at least stayed together. Utter disappointment and ridiculously cheap melaterials yet again. Thanks Amazon, I hate it. Zero stars for the dishonesty and moronic price on the worst compound wood(?) I've seen in years. This thing should sell for $40 because that's all it's worth. Would love to hear from a rep about this product, doubt I will.
