My wife is disabled and needs the extra help getting up from the toilet. I purchased this and another similar and hands down this was far superior. It attached under the toilet seat and bolt the seat back down. It is stable adjustable and when cleaning and mopping the floor you can lift the leg up and sweep/clean/mop under it without removing it. Great product

I would give these five stars, except that (as other reviewers note) they are VERY WOBBLY, moving a lot when you put weight on them to lower or lift yourself.However, most importantly, the fact that they move a lot doesn't translate to unreliable or unsafe. These rails take my full body weight (over 190 pounds lately, I think) with no problem at all, and I trust that they would not fail me after using them a pretty long time, so I've had lots of time to evaluate them and assess how much I trust them.And you get very used to the fact that they wiggle/wobble around a lot when in use, so it doesn't really bother you at all after a while. Just know that they're safe/reliable, and you'll be raised/lowered with confidence and the wonderful lessening of stress on your joints and to your muscles that not using rails can involve for some people.The fact that they lift VERY easily out of the way so that you can more easily transfer (such as from a wheelchair), or clean the floor underneath them, is definitely wonderful. And they do get completely out of the way and then return to the upright and locked position for take-off and landing extremely quickly and easily: what more could you ask for, other than perhaps free headphones & headphone jack with built-in stereo (I'm hoping the next model has that).I highly recommend this product, and just make sure that you (or the person using it) expects the wobbly nature of the rails, and trusts that they will do the job anyway to reduce/remove any anxiety a person might have at first when they discover that the rails move a lot when used.Perhaps I should have deducted one star because of how shaky they are. I would think that it should be possible to design this product to get rid of at least some, or hopefully a lot, of that shaky/wobbly nature of this particular model of rails. Thus, I would describe it as a "design flaw" in need of more attention by the manufacturer. However, all-in-all and given that you get used to it being shaky after a while (and thus stop even noticing it, really), it's a great product at a great price, and very easy to install by anyone who can turn a screw, by the way.

A nicely-made and well-finished product. Installation was easy in less than 15 minutes. The spacing of the two seat bolts on my American Standard toilet is 5 1/2" and the mounting plate is made to fit this perfectly. All parts fitted together with close tolerances and it was easy to adjust to the required height and width. The legs swing upwards with adequate space to clean under the rubber foot locations. A very good feature is that the feet are set back close to the toilet base, which reduces the risk of tripping over them. When in use there is a very slight wobble of the slip-together parts, but it is very small and not a cause for concern. Downward pressure on the hand rails is transmitted directly to the rubber feet on the floor. This is a well-designed product for a modest price and I highly recommend it.This is a second review, since I recently bought another frame for the second bathroom toilet. Quality and finish remain excellent and I am very happy with this product - it relieves much concern over a possible fall by an elderly ailing person.

I got these for my mom. She only ended up needing one. They are fairly sturdy, but I understand some people's comments about a bit of wobble they can have to them. My mom just sort of had to get used to them, but likes it.

This product is excellent! It is installed easily and securely. Unlike similar products, the legs on this item are set back so that they are never in the way of getting up and moving from the toilet. When you want to mop the bathroom floor, the legs lift up by simply raising the hand rail allowing you to clean under it.

Easy to install and great for older people, easy to get on and off of toilet

I needed taller arms and a raised seat.. See photo of how it does not raise in the back but can be titled to offer good support with combo of standard toilet raiser. This combo might work well enough. Most stand alone commode/bedside combos have very small seats. Men need an elongated seat to pee through. Ive returned several things that didn't work. This combo with elongated donut style riser with these arms that are 3-4" taller than the arms that come with some donut style risers may work for you. At least you can use a regular elongated seat with it.Tall men need more height. This is probably not the intended way to install but seems sturdy. I may look for rubber feet that are angled. I know they make them. The stepped back legs even with angle allows it not to be much of a tripping Hazzard. Hope this helps someone.

I like this product. It is very sturdy and seems to be well made with one exception. The holes where the mounting plate index the support arms are in the wrong location. Many other reviewers note this when they complain that the legs are not vertical. Well, they are right. As is from the factory, the vertical supports are canted to the rear. Meaning the rubber foot is several inches rear making the vertical support heavily angled.I didn't want to return it and do another search, is I drilled two more holes a little further in on the mounts. This narrowed the rails by an inch, but I now can set up the supports to perfectly vertical - where they should be.Unfortunately some people might not have the ability to drill a couple holes to make this mod, but if you can, I would highly recommend a purchase of these safety rails. If you can't drill new holes, don't install it incorrectly, just shop elsewhere.I like the soft but firm foam grips too. Some others have hard plastic. These are much more comfortable.
