Very detailed
I thought I was a control freak organising the trips with a lot of preparation, planning, mapping the route etc., but having read this book I am sure now I am not so bad. You receive a book that is veeery detailed in all aspects, from lenses, protection from weather, camera bags to how to get prepared for picture taking during the trip. A lot of advice feels like your mom saying AND DO NOT FORGET THE RAINCOAT, IT MIGHT RAIN TODAY!Personally, for me, there were a lot of details I was not really interested in, some things were absolutely obvious, on the other side the points I WAS interested in were not enough deeply discussed. The book started to get interesting from page 143, with composition and subjects.Overall, I think everyone gets something from this book. There are enough examples to illustrate the points and differences, in the end there are good ideas there and good advice inside.

Planning to take pictures while traveling? Buy this book.
This book is good for seasoned photo travelers as well as newbies. The first part covers the basics of equipment, and photography. Much of it was review for me, but since I'm not a professional photographer, it's good to have a refresher. The second part of the book gives good tips for taking pictures while traveling. I'd say this is directed to photographers who are traveling, rather than travelers who are taking pictures, but it still has a lot of useful information.

Excellent general photo guide as well as travel hints.
Not just for travel photography, this is an excellent guide to digital photography. I have been using digital cameras for several years, but the review in the firs part of the book is excellent. Pointers on specific travel images are very good. Discussion of cultural sensitivity toward subject is good without being preachy or condescending. An all around good book, not lightweight, best to read at home before your trip.

The greatest book on travel photography in the world.
The best of all books of photography, specially if you're a beginner. Explains everything concise, of a lot of different characteristics in travel photography. I had the previous edition still paperback, it was great too, but this one is in conjunction with the digital photography world we live in right now.

Thrilled with my new book "Lonely Planet's guide to travel photography" by amazing photographer Richard I'Anson - @richianson. Lovely edition, filled with stunning photographs and tons of useful and thorough advice to get unique and beautiful photos. And I just found out my photo genre is travel photography. Excited!

A General How To... Not A Specialist Work At All
I was looking for a guide to travel photography, when I was 25% of the way in and had found nothing but a guide to how cameras work - I refunded. There are gajillions of how a DSLR works books out there, I expected much more of something bearing the Lonely Planet brand than this.

Very Aussie
I quite like this book as the guy can take good pictures and offers mostly good advice. He is very Aussie though, mate, and should have had Sir Les Patterson write the foreword.

Maybe the only digital photography book you will ever need.
Its a great introductory study for anyone who wants to create better and more professional digital photographs. Although its directed towards travel photography the chapters explore important information that is relevant to digital photography in general. You won't be disappointed.

One of the bests I've seen
It's a great introduction to the endeavor travel photography. Covers almost all of it. I like that the author included the settings used on every picture printed in the book.I recommend this book to every amateur or pro in the making out there.

Kindle App isn't working properly!
I downloaded the Kindle edition of this book from Amazon.in. The book isn't loading properly on my Kindle App, random pages are missing in between so I haven't been able to read anything properly.
