I bought the aftermarket others pair and they both failed in a short time and where not as strong as Genuine GM for holding the hood up. For this part when your head or arm may be under the hood is worth the little more and be done with it for another 200,000 miles. Prop the hood up to relieve tension on spring and a quick easy change.

Works great to support the Hood of my 04 Silverado
Product worked great. My old hood spring separated and no longer could keep the hood up with the one drivers side. Bought a used one here on Amazon for a great price and looks as if it was new and functions as designed.

Worked great but they sent me two left hand side hinges
Both are functional and easy to install, except they were both identical left hand side hinges. One of them had a RIGHT HAND STICKER denoting a right hand side (passenger hinge) covering the stamped in part number... denoting a left hand side hinge. Get your acts together. can’t return it because it was slightly modified to fit different hardware.
