Condition of the book(s) was very good. President Carter’s 100th Birthday was earlier this month (10/1/24) 🎉Reading this during his centurion milestone alongside an impending Presidential election (Harris & Trump) has been insightful & inspirational. Makes me yearn for a time in America when we worked with ethic, partnered for the better and cared about the fate of our neighbor(s.) I was a young child when he was in office and grew up hearing he was a “weak” president. I disagree after reading this. His wife Roselyn was behind many of the decisions he had to make (they didn’t always agree & backed each other up.) She was an active First Lady. A genuine portrayal of his lived experience(s.) Respect to President Carter for being an Honorable American, Honorable Veteran, Honorable Family Man and Humanitarian. A good Human.

It always seemed to me that Jimmy Carter had a difficult time getting things accomplished while in office because he was a Washington outsider. Yet in his memoir he never complained about what he wasn't able to push through. You get the feeling that he used his presidency as a stepping stone enabling him to do even greater things once he was out of office. I was surprised to learn how smart he is, and that he was able to master whatever he set his mind to do. It was also interesting to learn that he failed to share with Roselynn that he was planning to leave the service, and that he had decided to run for president. And yet those revelations made him seem all the more human.

A great look into the life of Jimmy Carter expressed in his own words as he reflects on not only his life, but also what he learned along the way as he navigated life with Rosalynn. President Carter does not fill in all the details of his life, but presents an reflection on what he deemed as important.

Such a great informative book by the most decent President and man!!!! Love Jimmy Carter!!! May he rest in peace
