Just what we wanted
We go bike rising on bike trails probably no more than 15 times a season. We used this last summer for my 2 year old. It was sturdy, comfortable for him, and the back goes up over his head which offers a bit more protection I think. Balancing on the bike is kind of weird at first but I think any seat would do that. I have this mounted in the back on my bike. Works great. Would recommend

Worth the money
Its a great seat. My son is almost 4 and 37lbs, he fits comfortably. Its sturdy. I had to order a bike rack to install under this...the locking part that the seat attaches to gradually slides down as you ride and eventually touches the tire. It might not for smaller kids. Overall I love the seat, weve had many great days out on the trail since using it :)

This seat is a great product. It was easy to install
This seat is a great product. It was easy to install, the straps and foot rests are easy to adjust, and my 14 month old son seems to be very comfortable. It is also a very stylish modern design.

We love this!
Sturdy, easy to use and and easy to move from one bike to another. Since we’ve gotten this, we have taken so many bike rides with our toddler. The straps are easy to adjust as well. I like the clips that release the straps.

Doesn't seem to fit women's frame mountain bikes
Be careful about what kind of bike you use this with.I used to be really into biking before having a kid, but being pregnant and then breastfeeding was not conducive to the long bike rides I like. My road bike and mountain bike are both carbon fiber and I knew that I could not put a child seat on those bikes. So, I decided to get a used steel women's mountain bike to use with this child seat. I don't usually ride women's specific bikes, but I purposely got one for using with a child seat because you do have to be careful when you are getting on and off the bike, keep the bike balanced and not kick your child when getting on and off the bike. Doing all of these things is easier to accomplish with a sloping top tube.A critical part was broken when I got the seat in the mail - there is a blue plastic piece that allows the seat to move forward and back on the rails and that was broken. A part like that should have been made of something stronger, maybe aluminum. I ordered several of these parts from Thule and I thought I was finally ready to go for a bike ride with my two year old.It turns out that there is not enough space on the seat tube to get the quick release bracket high enough so that the seat doesn't hit the rear tire. I also had to position the seat farther back on the two railings than I would have preferred, so that my legs didn't hit the foot rests while pedaling. My daughter spent a couple hours with me getting it all set up and we were both excited to go for a ride. After I got everything adjusted and had her in the seat and ready to ride - it turns out the rear wheel won't turn because her weight causes the seat to sag and hit the wheel. Try explaining this to a two year old who has been wanting to go for a bike ride - not fun : (Thule really ought to have a prominent warning about the seat tube issue on women's bikes. This information should be prominently included in online product descriptions. The people who are most likely to be putting a child seat on their bikes are women. It seems really ironic that a child seat design would not be made to work with women's bikes frames. On another note, the clamping part of the quick release bracket is pretty strong - I would not want to use an aluminum frame (or carbon fiber). The instructions clearly say that the seat can't be used with carbon fiber. I would stick with a strong steel or titanium frame only.

Nice seat, but didn't fit my bike
This did not fit my Firmstrong Chief Lady cruiser. I had to use the low saddle seat adapter, but just not enough clearance over the wheel. When my 27lb daughter sat in it, it touched the wheel. Really liked the seat otherwise and wish we could have kept it.

Good, traditional design; does make bike a little tippy
Bought this for my son and daughter-in-law, and their first child. They're satisfied, but it makes the bike a little tippy by raising the center of gravity. They had to buy a better, two-legged bicycle center stand, which I'd say was/is advisable.
