Awesome
If you like challenging yourself with jazz rhythm, I'm sure you're going to like the pieces on this book and on the entire collection of "Piano Solos Series" by Hal Leonard Corporation. Playing the chords is not difficult if you have some basic jazz training, but you need to work very well on the rhythmic before you even start playing them on the piano. For this cheap price, you get great value for your money. Here's a list of title copied directly from the Hal Leonard website: All Blues Au Privave Bags' Groove Billie's Bounce (Bill's Bounce) Birk's Works Blue 'N Boogie Blue Monk Blue Seven Blue Train (Blue Trane) Blues By Five Blues For Alice Blues In The Closet C-Jam Blues Comin' Home Baby D Natural Blues Freddie Freeloader K.C. Blues Mr. P.C. Now See How You Are Now's The Time Straight No Chaser Tenor Madness Things Ain't What They Used To Be Turnaround Two Degrees East, Three Degrees West

A Very Happy Buyer
I love this book. I have 5 of the books in the series and they are all good. The best part is that they are playable, perhaps intermediate - advanced, but still sound great. So many times it happens that to have a great sounding arrangement of say, 'All Blues' you have to have the technique of a monster. The simplified arrangements don't cut it? But these are not simplified arrangements. They are perfectly performable tunes. The arrangements have been very cleverly done so that they sound complete without the need of a gargantuan technique. That is not to say you won't be challenged. These pieces aren't necessarily easy, just not overly complex. I am an advanced intermediate player and I find arrangements by Earl Hines for instance, just that bit too hard. I get frustrated and disappointed when the good sounds I want to play are out of reach.I would pay the price of the book for any one of the arrangements within. I think they are just that good.More like this, please.

Nothing else like it
Somehow they managed to simplify the arrangements so that they still sound professional, but not so tricky that only a gifted few can play them. I have many sheet music transcriptions of Bill Evan, Chick Corea, Mehegan jazz studies, etc that I purchased over the years, but most are so technically challenging that you can forget about getting in a relaxed groove, so I ended up just playing some playable classical sheet music from time to time to keep in practice. But this jazz piano series of Hal Leonard has really filled a need, in my opinion.

Perfect for late intermediate/early advanced pianists
Perfect for late intermediate/early advanced pianists. I took piano lessons from a Baptist preacher's wife, so "improvisation" was not a skill I learned. It's nice to be able to play jazz and have it sound "jazzy" reading music sheet music, and not lead sheets.

Some of the best jazz standards
Songs like Blue Monk make this book worth the purchase as the arrangements are fairly accurate with a little improvisions added. Makes great for jazz pianists who study the style as well as those who perform jazz. The arrangements are just like you would expect from the original song.

Not bad but songs are repeated among volumes
I like it in general but I bought 3 different volumes and some of the songs were included in 2 of the volumes that I had even been different volumes and titles. I was going to continue buying numbers but now I'm not so keen

LOVE this book!
This is a really great book, I love the pieces! Some of it can be very hard, as it’s clearly improvisation that’s been notated, but some of it can be very attainable for sounding that authentic. From an intermediate player. So far I would say it’s just Blues, not jazz-Blues, but I haven’t played every piece yet. Would definitely recommend this book 😀

Super Buch, Packung offen
