Melissa & DougGiant Horse - Lifelike Stuffed Animal (nearly 3 feet tall)

When I purchased this mount, I didn't expect to get so much. At the price, this is a MUST BUY for any dedicated farmhand looking for a new charge. After a few weeks of introduction (which is normal), this has been the hardest working horse on my farm ever since my sweet dear Aethor passed away in 1994. It out-pulls even some of my larder, older stallions! My one complaint is that she came without being shoed which, for her age, was odd but we had our local farrier shoe her with no problems.While I have found many other Amazon horses to be hardnosed and quick to anger, this one's temperament has been sweet and soft. I've even left her around my nieces when they visit as I feel *that* comfortable with her. They are eleven and fifteen and know their way around a mount but I certainly wouldn't leave any of my bigger stallions with them as they can be quick to anger which I think is normal? The nieces just loved Shelly (which is what we named her- after my dear godmother who passed away in 2004 from cancer) and Shelly adored them. They fed her oats from the paddock doors and rode down to our lake and back with no issues.Overall a great horse that's quickly growing into a trusted friend.

There aren't words to describe how much my horse-obsessed 7 year old daughter loves this gift from Santa. (She has ridden horses since she was 4 so it's worth noting even a kid who rides real horses once a week still loves this one.) It hasn't left her side (or arms, body, et al) since Christmas morning. However I managed to buy this for $49.99 pre-Christmas and want to stipulate that that's a great price and worth every penny. In fact at $49.99 it was a steal. However I see now it's gone up to $120. For $120 you would be likely disappointed as it's not that spectacularly made. It's a large, fully stuffed horse that any reasonably sized kid (including my 7 year old who's average size and around 45 lbs) can actually sit on and "ride." The fur is so-so soft. The mane and tail are slim and not soft at all. But again - if you can spend somewhere between $50-75 for this it's an AMAZING, crowd-pleasing gift. Be forewarned though, it's large and in charge so consider where it's going and whether you have the room.

Love this horse ! I’m sure my daughter who’s obsessed with all things horses will love receiving it for Christmas ! Came quickly with prime shipping wrapped in plastic inside a huge brown box so no one ( especially my kids ) would be able to know what’s inside. I inspected it on arrival and there was no damage just needed a little fluffing and it’s perfect. The torso is a little skinnier then the body but I think that’s for easy riding, and seems kind of lightweight so I’m wondering how it will hold up with my daughter sitting on it ( we will see ) . Really wish Melissa and dug sold a saddle set for this but other than that 5 stars.

Very disappointed with this horse. You should read the 1, 2, and 3 star ratings for this - they are correct. My 6 year old who weights about 50 lbs cannot sit on it without it collasping. If your child is going to sit on it - it is NOT a good toy. We have tried to adjust the legs and re-enforce it, but it is very poorly constructed and feels like it will break easily. The other reviews complain of the same thing - so I do not believe our toy was unique in this respect. It is a big expensive stuffed animal and not mean to be a toy to sit on.In addition the head is bent forward making it look nothing like the pictured horse at all.This was our featured gift for our 6 year old and she is very frustrated with the toy - I have not bought other Melissa and Doug stuff but if this is an example of their toys, then I will steer clear of their products.I would be concerned about the 5 star reviews - they do not seem to be describing the product I received.

I bought this horse for my teenage daughter who is 16. She loves horses. I plan on leaving it on her bed so she can see when she arrives from school. For the great price, this is the next best thing. It is proportioned very well. Color is great. Packaged in a large box which of course due to the size of it, its a must be. No mail boxes for this one. Looks actually bigger than on the picture.Feels very sturdy, stands up on its own very well.I actually got each of my daughters their favorite animal but in a super huge size, Giant cow, giant girrage, giant minnie mouse, giant learning to put on your clothes plush. I cant wait for them to all see. I bet the shock will be priceless.

I bought this horse just a week ago and it cost me $65.00 and now it is $49.99 , this does not seem fair considering the shabby condition the box came to me, it was open and very dented, apparently they tried to tape two boxes together and it was not a good tape job. I would return it but the box is destroyed, but if they did give me the price difference in return then I would greatly appreciate it. The horse is not as sturdy as the previous horse that I have bought my daughter, so hopefully this will survive at least a year?

Grandpa send kiddos $$$ for gifts & my 8 yr old fell in love with this ridable horse as the weight limit is higher than most. Sturdy. Pretty 'fur' & soft, cuddly, too. She puts it on a stool, saddles up & rides! She's had it for several months & it's still her favorite horse toy! Thanks Grandpa!!
