I've found these helpful and enjoyable on several occasions.
Most non-parishable emergency foods are iffy. Had some good MRE's but by time to eat one could eat the horn off a rhino. Got stuck camping/hiking a few times, so cracked these open. Cut it up for everyone to have an equal piece (opinions favored coconut). Water/hydrating beverage is best to add over a fire. Especially when camping I always bring extra water (much is left in the car as a cache), and also excess herbs/spices (risk of pots get tipped). We found crushing these and mixing 1 part cinnamon 2 part coconut, water to make pudding like substance. Pudding seemed to make an enjoyable snack/heavy lifter when supplies get low. Back to herbs and spices…cardamom, cocoa, nutmeg, honey, cayenne, molasses, finely chopped dried fruits, etc.To make a long story longer, I'm very happy to have had these when stranded. The coconut is good, I could eat it for several meals back to back. Cinnamon needs a little help (cooking/warming with water and spices into pudding took it to another level). Again mixing them complimented each other. Mixing with spices made for a nice soothing or emotions. I've also had success making these additions to creating a cake/ muffin thing.

My Superyacht Lifeboat is not stocked
I sank my last Superyacht and the lifeboat we used didn't have enough food for the rest of my crew. So I wanted to be nice and get some extra so they don't have resort to less ideal food sources. Also I get very peckish so having more of these is nice.

Better To Be Prepared
I got these SOS emergency food ration squares for our emergency evacuation Go Bags. You can't beat the space that they save in your bag because it is very small in size. In a space smaller than 5 inches by 5 inches you have emergency food for 3 days for a person. It was surprising how dense and heavy it is, but still weighs less than if you were to pack normal food for 3 days. I can not attest to the taste or texture of the product since I have not opened it and do not plan to open it unless there is an emergency. It is one of those things that you have peace of mind knowing that you have it, but you hope that you never need it. The expiration date is pretty good, lasting for 5 years. I would have preferred the option to buy just one of these, rather than being forced to buy 2. I did not need 2, so I am giving the extra one to a family member to use for their Go Bag.

Great emergency prep food
I've been keeping these in my emergency prep supplies and go-bag for over 25 years. Excellent product. Tasty, filling, easy to transport. Kind of like a shortbread cookie. They do expire 5 years from the manufacture date so keep track and eat before they expire and replace. I used to buy them by the case from the manufacturer. I was even shown how they were made and their meticulous attention to quality control and sterility. I've decided to buy a few monthly instead. Hard to eat a whole case if you lose track of time. Highly recommend as a part of your emergency prep.

Solid buy. Better than expected!
Just got these delivered and they look quite good on first inspection. The manufacture date on mine was 10/20 and expiration is 10/25 so it seems it's good for just a little under 5 years by the time it arrives. It's quite hefty and the packaging looks and feels good. Both of them came in white packaging which made me a little confused, but one had a sticker labeling it Cinnamon.I figured I'd open one of them up and went with the cinnamon one first. They are all packaged together and are all individually wrapped in what seems to be very thin plastic. Since it's packed so tightly they are all stuck in one block which comes apart fairly easily surprisingly. They are a little oily on the outside and have a slight pleasant cinnamon smell to them. I tried a bar and they taste pretty good honestly. They're plain, taste like cinnamon obviously, and pretty much inoffensive. The texture is kind of crumbly, but cohesive. It's not like compressed bar of powder though and is moist which doesn't dry out the throat. One thing I noticed is the high sugar content. One bar contains 31 grams of sugar which is quite high, especially if you're eating three of these a day as per the instructions. This doesn't concern me too much, because that's not where the intent was behind this product. It's made to be a stable food ration for emergencies which can handle varying environments, stay shelf stable for 5 years, and after all that's said and done be able to provide calories and energy for someone on the move or to survive for a longer period of time all while not making them feel more thirsty. All in all these bars are a solid buy and will provide security and ease for you knowing that you have something for emergencies.Summary:+ 5 year shelf life+ Packaging is solid and feels like it'll last+ Tastes good, mostly plain with hint of cinnamon+ Each bar is individually wrapped and come apart easily. (I don't think they'll last 5 years once you open the main bag though.)- It's not healthy, but hey you're trying to survive here.10/10 would buy again.Hope this review helped you all.

Inexpensive, compact, and great tasting!
It's been about 3 years since I purchased these, so I decided to give them a try. The cinnamon bars taste great! Each bar has about 400 calories with lots of sugar and fat. It's like a thick graham cracker - strong cinnamon taste, crumbly, and sweet. The coconut is good and doesn't have a strong coconut taste. The outer packaging is vacuum-packed around the bars making a solid, compact "block". I used a knife to open. The bars are individually wrapped in thin, clear plastic and easily opened. The bars taste good! Excellent with coffee. You'll get fat quickly from eating lots of these calorie-dense bars without activity (4.88 cal/g compared to Snickers 4.92 cal/g). However, in an emergency scenario, these are perfect.
