Negative reviewer misunderstood the intended audience for this book
I have recently finished reading The Market Whisperer and am now reading it again as there is a lot of valuable information in here which cannot be fully absorbed the first time around. It bothers me that the most helpful review of this book is written by a person who completely misunderstood the intended audience of this book. He calls the book "terrible" and recommends instead Jesse Stine or Mark Minervini. The thing is those authors are writing very different types of books than this author Mr. Barak. In The Market Whisperer, Mr. Barak tells us briefly his life story, how he became a successful day trader and takes the reader step-by-step into the world of day trading - a practical guide of how to do it. The negative reviewer did not like the background that forms the first part of the book but I found this very interesting and if one is going to buy or sell stocks it does not hurt to know the basics and history instead of living in ignorance (for example what the difference is between the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq). The reviewer also did not appreciate the explanations of trading strategy and indicators. However the intended audience is likely not familiar with these strategies and indicators and therefore are important to know.I particularly liked the emphasis in the book on the 'psychology' of the market (understanding why price is going up or down - human emotions relating to fear and greed and how to take advantage of other traders panic) and the last part of the book about the psychology of trading - how to overcome mental obstacles, stick with it and succeed. In summary: this book is a guide to day trading where the author takes you through step-by-step from the background of financial markets, to the trading platforms, charts and candle formations, trading strategies, financial indicators, various aspects of the stock market indexes and sectors and psychology of the market and the individual trader. This book is NOT about choosing stocks according to fundamentals (as does Peter Lynch, etc.) but rather how to identify opportunities and make money trading stocks.

First review I'm ever writing for Amazon
I have never written a review for a book on Amazon because none of them were any good (I only buy trading books here).I followed Meir on his youtube videos making live trades, and checked his performance on the tradenet website for about 2 months. I've always been skeptical of people claiming to be a great trader and offering services as well as writing books about their experience. After mulling over whether I should take his course or not, I e-mailed him and was surprised he replied back! After answering some of my questions, he recommended that I read his book. It's safe to say this book is like none of the other ones I read, like Al Brooks (too cryptic) or pattern books that offer no fundamental explanation of how the whole system works. Meir's book is very straight to the point and explains every detail of what a short-term trader should know...after watching the market for two years and failing, this book told me why I was failing for the entire two years.I highly recommend this book as the top trading book I've come across. He's not some white collar jerk-off explaining to you as if he were talking to you as a child, how a stock should behave and how a company's value is related to the fluffy idea of an investment. I remember walking into my finance 100 class at wharton and asking the professor why anyone would ever buy a stock, which is essentially a piece of worthless paper, since the ownership I would have of a company is less than 0.1%. He openly laughed with the class at me explaining how stupid I was and how the discounted cash flow, the gordon growth model and the capital markets worked. I took that class for a semester and it still didn't answer my question. I took two more years of finance classes, became a finance and accounting major and it still did not answer my question.Meir has finally answered my question through this book. I am very impressed he has managed to encapsulate his thoughts into this book.

I highly recommend Meir Barak's book for any person trying to trade ...
I highly recommend Meir Barak's book for any person trying to trade the financial markets. His book provides the basis and the necessary concepts to do so. It is clear, well-written, and a good reference for any inexperienced to experienced trader.I have followed Meir Barak's YouTube trading videos for over two years. Recently he has made his TradeNet live trading room available on YouTube too. I have watched that room live while the market is open for over 2 months now, all for free! He also allowed me to read a PDF of his book for free with an online with a password. I am now re-reading the beautiful copy of his book that I bought on Amazon. So, what is my point?Without ever meeting or speaking to Meir Barak, I have found him to be a very good and a very knowledgeable and skilled trader. I have learned much from his videos and books. More importantly though, he seems like a very honest, honorable, and kind man. He is very transparent in his trading and very compassionate, kind, understanding, and generous with his knowledge and products. I understand that he is trying to make money with it all - but that is totally fair. The point is, I like him for the type of person he is...he is a role model for trading and as a person for me.If I ever recover from my disastrous trading year, down YTD over $25K, then I will join his room, attend his courses, etc. Unfortunately, that will probably never happen given that my account is basically blown up. Still, I wish I had paid for his book, courses, and room 2 years ago because then I suspect I'd be a profitable trader.BOTTOM LINE: This book is worth every penny and the author seems to be really good, incredibly smart, and very kind person in general. Thanks Meir!

The most underrated trading book I've read, and I've read many many over the years
First of all, this book is meant for active day traders, not investors. I've been day trading on and off for over a decade, attended several courses and read tons of trading books. I thought I have all knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in day trading but yet find it extremely hard to make any money. This book and joining the free Tradenet trading room on Youtube has helped me become a profitable trader. Although I'm still a long way from being successful but I'm beginning to finally see results. Wished I found this earlier!Unlike other trading books or courses I've attended, this book focuses only on the practical aspects and what actually works for day trading. No useless theory and unimportant information that is not necessary for success. For e.g. among the tons of patterns and indicators, you only need a few of the most reliable ones to help you trade. Less is more, trading should be simple not complicated. If there is only one trading book I would recommend among the many best sellers I've read, this book would be it. I can't believe this book is not among the best sellers on Amazon, it's truly a hidden gem.Btw Meir if you're reading this, I'm very grateful that you're sharing your wealth of experience. As a suggestion, maybe you should change your book's cover. As much as I like your handsome face, it looks more like a biography than a professional trading book that it is.

Excellent book!
Full of useful information with in depth explanations and lots of examples, written in a very easy to fathom manner. I learnt a lot through this book and feel like this was a great first step towards getting into trading. I'm going to read it once more immediately, more thoroughly this time. The only negative I found was that the images were not of high quality and the numbers and text weren't clearly visible for the majority of them. I read it on my iPad. May be it's better on the hard copy. It would be great if the publisher could improve them.I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in trading or simply wants to understand what the capital market is all about and how things work. Thanks to Mr Barak for writing such a comprehensive and enjoyable book on the subject.
