GodingerDublin Cake Plate Cake Stand,12 inches

We ordered this glass cake stand because two weeks before Christmas we chipped the base of our 30+ year old domed cake stand. I was looking for something that would fit my old dome. It also needed to have some lip or edge to keep the dome on. Some are flat and I've read reviews where the dome slides around. This one was described as having a raised lip, and that the 'flat' part of it was 10". I was on the fence about ordering it because my dome is 11" and I was taking a chance it would fit right. To my amazement, the dome fits perfectly over the new cake stand. And the only way I could be happier is if it were made in Ireland. It is very pretty. Prettier than the one we had. And the dome could not fit more perfectly and secure. The person who chipped the old one, is very relieved we were able to get a replacement so fast that we are happy with. And we won't miss a beat, with Christmas in two days and baked goods to sit in the domed cake stand. The only reason it is only 4 stars, is because I'm being told it was made in China, which I try to avoid. I haven't confirmed that yet, though. Whereever it was made, I'm very happy with it.Edit:I am changing my review to a 5 star review, because I thought about it and decided, I shouldn't deduct stars just because it was not made in Ireland, when it is a very good piece for the money.

I broke the top of my glass covered cake stand that all my family birthday cakes sit on but I still had the glass cover. This designed cake stand is very pretty and my glass cover fits over it perfectly. So I am happy and I am sure my family will like their birthday cakes sitting on top of my new cake stand.. It is sturdy and well made and much prettier than my old, broken glass stand!

This item did not disappoint. Arrived in one piece and nicely packaged. The glass is evenly clear and has a nice design, which will be perfect for my use (small, simple tiered wedding cake) but might be a bit much for every day use. Tried to find a clear glass pedestal plate; difficulty finding one that sat evenly and wasn't full of bubbles in the glass. The box indicates it is crystal -- no indication of "lead crystal", maybe there is a sticker on the plate somewhere; doesn't matter for my needs. Does not have the weight of other crystal pieces I have. The box has a preprinted MSP of $50 - I paid $25.00. Good value and it will probably end up going to the bride and groom, although they may not appreciated the style and might not use it.

I love It. My daughter gifted it to me for my birthday. I can’t wait to use it at a future holiday!

This is the second time I have purchased this cake plate. It is very pretty, has a good weight and is well made. I gave the first purchase away as a gift. The recipient and I were very pleased. Sooo, I promised myself that I would buy one of these cake plates for myself. I've already used it. Very attractive in it's presentation and functional. Has a nice sparkle to it and looks way more expensive than it actually was Arrived when promised and packed well. I adore items like this plate. Recommended

Don't take offence if you're a little fluffy. At one time I was 5'7 at 230# then at 20y.o. gradually started losing 73# and hit a growing spout and shot up 2.75"then chemo I dropped down to 128#then back up to my weight fluctuating between 155# to 173# but anyway...friends and coworkers used to say at our staff potlucks "fat girl likes cake" to my follow up "this fat girl likes cake and pie" now I have a beautiful cut crystal cake stand. Heavy enough to hold almost any cake, pies, cupcakes cookies or anything else that you may need to raise up and present your tasty treats to the heavens above. (As long as it's not over 10" around). When I was looking for an addition to our platters and cake stands I didn't mean to purchase this specific one as I was wanting and searching for a simple stand with a dome lid. When this cake stand arrived I opened the outer box to find this cut crystal stand with no dome and this ornate platter my smile quickly left my face as I was disappointed but then, when I opened the box containing the stand I got even more disappointed as the stand had broken/separated away from the platter due to the packaging. The packaging is thin criss-cross cardboard, (as a reference, kinda like the thin cardboard seperaters in a wine or liquor box), that gives absolutely no support and flattens out when you take the seperaters out of the box. I was expecting the stand to be in a fitted styrofoam mold like most fragile items are packaged. The separated pedestal/platter was an easy fix with a little spread of clear, 2 part mixed epoxy and a few minutes for it to set then 24 hours for it to totally cure I don't have to worry about it separating and spilling my tasty treats on the table or floor and with the dome, or lack of, I can buy a 10' dome separately. The stand is a little more ornate than what I was wanting as I wanted something more simple and plain as not to distract from but showcase my culinary edible art. Now that it's repaired, the more I look at it mixed with our crystal collection the more I'm glad I bought it. I have other cut crystal pieces in this same design by the same manufacturer and have never had any complaints on those plus they help the stand blend in better and not stand out looking out of place in the china cabinet. I was going to return and exchange it after it arrived for both, one I had placed in my wish list that has a dome and a simpler design and one where the base wasn't separated from the platter but after contacting AMAZON and the great service from the customer service representative I was refunded the money without having to send it back. They told me to keep it, glue it back together, give it away or donate it I decided to use a clear 2 part epoxy and glue the base and platter back together and use the money refunded to buy the dome. When I say broken I don't mean the crystal was chipped, scratched, broken in to pieces or shattered but just the pedestal base was separated from the platter. I used it at Christmas and received many compliments on it. (Plus it made a great conversion starter and promote AMAZON PRIME). I'm now pleased with my purchase. Only reason I'm giving a 4 star review is because of the packaging thus obtaining a damaged good. The outer box wasn't marked fragile to alert USPS take extra care with the package (but from experience that's probably better as everything I order that's marked fragile arrives with the box smashed, punctured, ripped, and the tape barely holding the box closed).

I was trying to replace a cake platter that shattered in a celebration. This was exactly what I was looking for. Beautifully made and fits perfectly with the big dome to cover cakes or double as a punch bowl or snack platter server.

The glass is thick and beautiful. It is a well durable cake plate
