Starrett MS-2 Aluminum Straight Edge Meter Stick, 39.37" Length

I had to grind off about 1/16" from the end of the rule to establish an accurate zero edge. I expected more from Starrett. Thankfully there was extra material so I could correct the issue, so I guess we're good to go.Thanks

I have three metric tape measures (two Starretts and a Fastcap). When I lay them next to each other the marks align almost perfectly, at least for the first meter. However when I lay this aluminum meter stick next to those tape measures and align the marks at one end, the marks are off by at least half a millimeter at the other end. So the meter stick probably has a 0.5 mm error.

An outstanding rule ( there are too many that are clearly marked but inaccurate. )But we all measure with our rules and hardly any of us read the info on the back side, so it should also be ruled! I need sixteenths pretty often.

The ruler is everything advertised, and was packaged adequately so it arrived undamaged. I was pleased at the thickness of the metal, however the aluminum itself is very soft and I suspect will be subject to scratching and bending. Haven't used it extensively yet. I'll update this review when I have. A minor criticism is that there are a LOT of inch/metric conversions - many of which are redundant and all of which are in too fine a print for me to be able to read. Would rather have fewer that I can actually see.

This is pretty flimsy, but has not bent. The marks are not accurate after the first inch and by the time you get to a yard the ruler is off by more than 1/4" so it is no good for measuring. Still, it worked well as a hard edge to cut against when I cut some chip board with a rolling cutter. Since that is what I primarily wanted it for, it is alright.

If you are using this on a flat table for measuring fabric or something, then it will work great. But for an around-the-house measuring stick, I find it to flimsy. It bends under it's own weight. One of my kids will probably accidentally damage it.

This meter stick is ideal for my application (daily measuring of a water table height, outside). I even ordered another one recently.But a couple months after this to use, much of the ink is wearing or flaking off. So those areas no longer have the ruler marks or numbers.I do wish the printing on the stick were more durable. Except for that, it's just what I need for this job.

This liter plus ruler is excellent for general home use. Its accurate & easy to read. We were delightfully surprised at how large and well "inked" the numbers! The are quickly & easily read by us & we both have visual issues. For our uses, metal is a must as it doesn't warp with weather or over time like wood. Metal can provide a hard straight edge for drawing lines & spaced cut marks. I recommend this item, reasonable quality, reasonable price.

I love this rule. It does just what I want. It measures stuff up to a metre long very accurately. I really don't like a standard retractable tape measure for accurate work, so this rule is just the ticket. I build furniture, so accurate measurement is essential and I just don't get it how people work with a tape when they flex and bend. This is a really great product and very good quality.

It's a straight edge with measurements and it's...err... straight and has measurements.What else would you expect?

Straight, with good measurement markings (I checked with a tape measure).I like the fact that it shows both inches and centimetres.There is a conversion chart on the back, but I wonder if it is accurate. Does one square centimetre equal one square inch? Am I missing something? (see photo).I hope someone will correct me if I am wrong. It seems like the conversion chart might be flawed. I don't care about that; I just need this to cut straight lines.
