A trap that ACTUALLY WORKS...

There is a learning curve to how to set this in the ground, but it works great once you master it. You stomp down a section of the tunnel, then cut two cross tunnel slots with a edger blade or flat shovel to insert the jaws down into the tunnel. Put all your weight down on top of the big yellow top which spreads the jaws wide on each side of the tunnel. Once you get the jaws spread wide, you need to press down on the small yellow part sticking up thru the large yellow foot pad. Pressing this down lowers the trip pad down on top of the runway and also locks the trap open. Once the critter tries going under the trap he presses up a little on the trip and BLAM...!!!!!!!!!!!Got my second one this morning..... pics attached. This trap has STRONG springs, may be harder to set than the normal traps but worth it.

Really does get the moles

I have a real, continuous mole issue since the house backs up to a wooded green belt. These are the one type that works. Setup is a bit tricky. I use a flat blade shovel to cut across the mole track, push down the center of the track and then set the trap. Once you get the hang of it they really work.Actually got 2 moles at the same time, one on each side. Can't say how that happened other than two really unlucky moles.

disappointed

Bought due to an online recommendation. Received product with no instructions or any paperwork. Looked up video online. This seems to be made for a lot larger tunnels than I have. Digging the trench didn't really match the size tunnels I have. The trap is very difficult to set and destroys tunnel you're trying to trap in while trying to push it down to set it. I'm 200+ pounds and had a hard time setting it without moving all dirt around it. No results so far and not expecting much. Probably a bad purchase will update if anything changes.

Durable but somewhat of a pain to set. Not as effective as poison worms

I struggled to control a mole population in my yard for several years. I tried lots of products, including poison granules, scissor spring traps (which definitely helped, but didn't end the problem), castor oil in liquid and granular form (both of which helped slow activity, but never ended the problem), vibrating/ noise producing rods (that didn't work, even a little), Sulphur smoke bombs (that were interesting to use, but I couldn't quantify any beneficial effect), and I'm sure other stuff that I can't remember. Everything, including these traps, was a 3 out of 5 or less on effectiveness. A more effective product is Bell Laboratories Talpirid 7150 Mole Bait Worms. Deploying the Talprid worms, watching carefully for new activity, and redeploying eliminated my mole problem in about a month. The worms aren't cheap, but they're effective and worth the money and time you'll save by not buying these traps or any of the other less effective alternatives.

This is what professional ground keepers use.

This is what they use on golf courses if they have tunneling vermin. I know because there’s a golf course in my backyard and I could see these traps. They are expensive, but they will work once you learn how to set them properly. The KEY STEPS to setting them correctly can be found with a browser search, and without following those instructions, you will not have any success. If you’re lazy, don’t waste your time, buy the poisoned worms (which I don’t like because they can kill beneficial garden snakes).

Only one that truly works

This is the only mole trap I buy. It works every time. I get around 12-24 miles before it breaks. Everything else is a waste of money

The Trap Actually Works!

Tried this in 2 locations and the last one hit. The instructions say to move the trap after 24 hours but I went ahead and left it in and on the 3rd day... boom got ya! It is VERY important that you identify the active tunnel first by poking a hole and waiting till the next day to see if it has been sealed up. I have tried everything to get rid of this mole. Poison worms, mole repellent, sonic steaks, treating the grubs. I also tried the other mole traps that never worked and were complicated to set. This is the only thing that actually worked and is super easy to set.UPDATE 3/20/19 - That time of year again. Another blasted mole moved in and started tearing up the yard. Set the trap on one side of the yard where the mounds first appeared and didn't catch anything. On the third day I started to poke holes where some more dirt had appeared and the next day those hole had been repaired. Ahhh ha, darn thing moved. Set the trap on a line of dirt and this time I poked holes on either side of the trap. This way he would be forced to go through to repair. The next day about 11 am I noticed the trap had been sprung. Boom got ya!

Trap and patience pays off!

These traps work...you just need two things...find the right spot and patience. I am now slowly getting rid of my mole problem and the more I watch the tunnels and there movement, the easier placement becomes...just be patient...this one tripped it twice before I finally got him...but these traps are efficient and cost a lot less than posion worms, that are more hit and miss....happy hunting!
