Cúrate: Authentic Spanish Food from an American Kitchen

I live in Asheville and make the pilgrimage to Curate every other year because as much as I love the food (and I ADORE the food) I just can't afford to make a habit of it. I sit at the counter during lunch and have the wait staff bring me food until I tell them to stop, which is next to impossible to do because every single dish they serve is outstanding. I bought this book hoping I would find a few of my favorites to make at home, and when I flipped through the pages, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The best part is, the dishes are so easy to prepare and the food is so insanely delicious that it has ruined me for anything else. And that was before I invested in the right kind of paprika and blended oil. I can't imagine how good everything will be once I assemble all the right ingredients. I want to eat everything in this book and feel like I am cheating on Katie when I prepare anything else. If she weren't already happily married I would propose to her on bended knee. What an amazing find. How lucky we are to have her in our town.

I have only had this book for a couple months. This review is not a reflection of the recipes, but the book itself. Seems as though others have had this issue, but the binding falls apart and all the pages are coming a part. I’d expect this if I have had the book for at least a year, but I have had this book for only a couple months.

Yes, yes, yes! My husband and I enjoyed dining at Cúrate while visiting Asheville. Our meal left such an impression, I had to order the cookbook. The recipes are easy to follow and even though an amateur, I was able to follow the instructions and recreate much of my resturant experience right here in my kitchen.

We have been to this restaurant, and have had many of the recipes there. Most cookbooks written by chefs from famous restaurants have ingredients that are hard to find. This book is not so....I can't wait to begin making all of the recipes that I have had in their restaurant. So glad I bought this one!

Wow! We have had the the Curete experience several times when we are in Asheville, so we are heavily biased. The cookbook recipes have all the great character and flavors of the restaurant, yet most of them are approachable in the kitchen. One needs to have some experience as a cook, but in general, Katie Button has made these recipes for the home cook. It has more than just tapas, so the scope of this book is wide. Buy it! Use it! you will be glad you did

I like the recipes very much but teñhe binding is falling apart after a few months and practically no use. The pages are loose. I do hve an issue with the reviewer who said these are not Mexican recipes. Duh, it’s Spanish good which is from Spain. That is not a fair review. Like, I said, great Spanish recipes from Spain, terrible binding, hence the 3 stars.

I can’t say how much I love this cookbook! Every single recipe I’ve tried has been a hit and a few of them have become family favorites I make again and again. Seriously, the empanada recipe even impressed my impossible to please gallega mother in law. I did experience an issue with pages falling out, but it seems like that only happens w books from Amazon. I encourage you to visit Chef Button’s online shop where you can buy specialty ingredients and Spanish delicacies.

This is by far my favorite cookbook in an over 200 collection. The recipes are great for a weeknight evening or a special friends over on the weekend. Don't let the ingredient lists intimidate you, take on the challenge to find the right rabbit. My go to is the Fresh Cod with Tomato Sauce and Garbonzos. It is a simple dinner when having friends over. I just with she would come out with another.

Wow! These recipes looks incredibly delicious! It meets my expectations. The pictures are also amazing. Definitely worth it

And I buy this book to my friends whenever I have to make a gift to people that are not spaniards. Stuffed with true recipes no fuzz.

Top notch Spanish dishes with a twist. Highly recommend! Made loads so far and all turned out great.
