Very articulated hints & substitutes for ingredients. Helpful for any cook.

Probably my favorite cookbook. This is my second time purchasing as I wore out my first one. It's old-school, you won't find air fryer, instapot, etc. type recipes but if you have cooking experience you can adapt the recipes easily for the modern appliances. Will definitely continue using this cookbook in my home for as long as I am able to cook and bake.

I am so disappointed in this book! Part of it is I didn’t read down the very end for the size of the book! It is a tiny, tiny book! It has no pictures and isn’t easy to read! Prospective buyer’s beware.

This is the best edition of the best cookbook you can get. It will tell you how to make everything from a cup of coffee to homaide bread. I make pancakes from scratch,waffles from scratch. Basically you can make food better than any restaurant so why even go out. I keep wearing these books out so this will be my third one.

When I was young my mother had one of the early additions of this cookbook. I use to make the apple pie for my extended family for Thanksgiving, and it was a big hit. I became quite famous in my family for "my" apple pies, or more accurately Better Homes and Gardens' Apple pies.My sister has been asking me to make her an apple pie but I didn't have the recipe so I ordered this book. I was quite excited to have "my" apple pie recipe again, and to try out the other recipes in the book... that is, until the book arrived today.It's my fault for not reading the description better, I just saw the book and ordered it, but the design is completely impractical. It's about the size and thickness of a dictionary. It is impossible to use while cooking without making a mess of the book, or having to write out the recipe.Order the book, but pay extra for the ring bound edition, that way you can actually use it. This particular edition is just a waste of money.

I bought this cookbook for my son who does a lot of cooking for his wife and son. He has always loved to cook but has never had this cookbook. I was given this cookbook when I was 15 (and am now 75) and have just about worn in out in the 60 years I have been cooking. I have my favorite sections and have used it so much that the cover fell apart and now the pages will not stay in the binder I had to put the book in. It is my go-to cookbook. This has to be one of the very best cookbooks. I have also bought this book 3 years ago and gave to my granddaughter. I would highly recommend to anyone.
