How Well does this work with the 1911? and is it good for barrel link and pin installation on the 1911?

Yes its good for 1911 or clone and good for glockJulien from France

Will this work for a springfield xds9 for dissassembly?

There are just a few features of this block that are very specific to the m1911. This block should be very useful for complete disassembly of any firearm that requires drifting pins out, steadying the slide or frame to work on attached parts, etc. It's waaaay better than a 2x4 with a few holes drilled in it.

Using calipers, how wide is the squared channel for slides? No references to pistol models please. Just the measurement. Thx.

Mine measures 1.00” on one end and 1.05 on the other end.

I don’t know. It doesn’t say.
