This is the original, first edition of Unbeatable Mind brought back by Mark upon request from many who enjoy this version of his popular book which has sold over a million copies worldwide. This edition is in it's original format and has not been edited.Commander Mark Divine is a retired Navy SEAL and the founder of SEALFIT and Unbeatable Mind. In this edition he presents his insights on how to forge mental toughness, develop mental clarity and cultivate an authentic warrior's spirit. The book's themes were developed as a foundational philosophy for the popular Unbeatable Mind Academy, originally oriented to train special operations candidates in the mental, emotional and spiritual strength to become an elite warrior. That training combined with SEALFIT has been largely adopted by the SEAL BUDS training command as well as the Air Force Special Operations training command.Unbeatable Mind training has led to profound transformation and breakthroughs for thousands from all walks of life. You will learn to develop your "20X factor" -- an awareness that you are capable of at least twenty times more than you previously thought. This book will help you develop: Mental Clarity- to make better decisions while under pressure Concentration - to focus on the mission until victory Deep Awareness - to be more sensitive to your internal and external radar Develop Leadership Authenticity - to be a heart-centered leader and service oriented teammate Intuition - to learn to trust your gut and use your mental imagery to your advantage Offensive "sheepdog" mindset - to avoid danger and stay one step ahead of the competition or enemy Warrior spirit - to deepen your willpower, intention and connection with your spiritual self Here is what others are saying about Unbeatable Mind: Dear Coach Divine, I want to thank you for your amazing Unbeatable Mind book and program, which in my estimation, is the most well thought out, organized and practical program of its kind that I have ever seen. Simply the best. -- Eric "Sir you probably get these letters all the time but I want you to know that you have profoundly changed my life for the better. I am a better human being since reading Unbeatable Mind and participating in the online academy. I am gaining control of my monkey mind which has run amuck for many many years with self-defeating attitudes and behaviors. I am now part of the solution in this world and not part of the problem. I am a sheepdog!" -- Kevin Mark Divine is also the author of "The Way of the SEAL," "8 Weeks to SEALFIT," "Kokoro Yoga," Staring Down the Wolf" and the "SEALFIT Training Guide." Review: Best Manual For Enhanced Human Performance across all spectrums (pphysical, psychological, emotional, spiritual) ever written. - This is the best book on achieving personal excellence that has ever been written. EVER. It is destined to become a classic. The book and Commander Divine's program have changed my life in an astounding way. I read some of the other reviews here and I am wondering is they read the same book. Thin on content? Are you kidding me? After college (30 years ago) I read M. Scott Peck's The Road Less Traveled and it changed my life. I felt like is was a gift to humanity. I have not had that experience with a personal growth book until reading UM. For me reading this book is like reading the Bible. Just one basic and irrefutable truth after another. I predict that over time this book will change our world in a meaningful way. The general thesis is that we are so much more than we realize and that elite performance, or 20 times what we think we can perform, is available to all of us. Divine has all the pieces here. Physical strength and discipline. Control of the monkey mind. Meditation. Tapping into the subconcious through visualization. Spiritual growth. Alignment with the universe and our higher purpose. This guy is a warrior, philosopher, monk, not just an ex Navy Seal. He has street cred because he did it. He graduated number one (honor man) in his Navy Seal class. Do any of you know how hard that is to do? He did it by using the techniques that he freely shares in this book. He is very honest and open. His life has not always been a bowl of cherries, but he has listened to his inner voice and he is very gifted at teaching what he has learned. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. The book has changed my life in a hugely positive way. It may or may not work for you, but it worked for me. Review: Packed with powerful insights and attituddes - I purchased this book for my laptop's Kindle today. I'm going to respectfully disagree with some of the other reviewers who dismissed this as lightweight or as a paid infomercial for some of Mark's other works. Self-promotion is OK...look at the careers of Jeffrey Gitomer and Brian Tracy. It doesn't get in the way of their best efforts, and it doesn't get in the way of what this book has to offer. For me, it's not about how much "brand new information" an author provides, because let's face it...when it comes to your mind and how it works, how it moves you forward or holds you back...a LOT has been written. It's about CONTEXT, what an author DOES with that information, how he or she presents it. The end result will either inspire you to take action, or it won't. And while it is just my opinion, I am of the firm belief that this book could inspire YOU to take some necessary steps in your life, because that's what it's done for me. The book is SO dense and fully-packed with powerful insights that I think it needs to be taken a chapter at a time. This is not a "quick read," and it probably would not serve you well to move on to the next concept before mastering the one you're on. Some of the concepts may be a little "out there" for some (like the "Fish Bowl Guided Visualization," for one) but think for a moment. What you know and how you put it all together is how you got where you are right now. If you are 100% happy with that and satisfied with every aspect of your life, why would you possibly be considering this book? New perspectives are sometimes just what the doctor ordered, even if they may seem "offbeat" at first. Maybe everything in this book will not resonate equally for you. Name the LAST book where THAT happened. I don't want to say too much about the specific content of the book, because it would detract from the joy of your own discovery process. Suffice it to say that it's a book about mastery...mastering your thoughts, bringing discipline and focus to your actions, so that you can make progress while others are standing still. This is NOT one of those "I've read it all before" books. I'm not sure how some of the other reviewers came to that kind of conclusion but I encourage you, at minimum, to download the Kindle sample and decide for yourself. Then get the book and start taking full control of your life and your happiness.

Great Read Especially for anyone in the military
As a person in the Army, I was able to relate to this book a lot. I felt comfortable exploring concepts for meditation, zen, and dissipating mental blocks because of his background in the Navy Seals and his study of martial arts. Mark Divine does a great job of making this book very direct; he discusses the concepts and ideas and he explains the work you as the individual will have to put in to meet the results you want. The thing that resonated with me the most was introspective meditation. We allow things to make us unhappy but sometimes we must do some introspective thinking and realize that it is on us to either not accept that behavior and/or not allow ourselves to be taken into those situations when we see them coming ahead of us. I really enjoyed the book and listening to it on audible when I couldn't just sit down and read it on my kindle. The only reason I give it 4 out of 5 stars is simply because I did not like the narrator for the audible version. His annunciation of words made me cringe a few times, especially when he pronounces the word "again" throughout the book as "a-gain". Yes, I know that may not mean much to some people but hearing that over and over in my vehicle made me cringe every time. The narrator was also a bit over the top in the way they present themselves (i.e. their tone). I have seen a few videos with Mark Divine and his voice is very casual but confident. The narrator sounds like he's trying too hard to sound like GI Joe....seriously.

A must read!
I know that, A must read is thrown around a good deal. This book is a must read if you're looking to take your self to the next level. Mark Divine has the credentials to back up his prose and philosophy. His thought process on training and incorporating both eastern and western practices, in both the mental and physical aspects of fitness, mental preperation, and adapting to stress are tested, proven, and cutting edge. If you're curious to hear his concepts before buying, he was on a recent podcast with Dave Asprey, The BulletProof exec podcast. Give that episode a listen. Divine defines his philosophy, his concepts, and gives solid advice. I purchased the book about a month ago and already feel results of the mental aspects he advocates. Well written, to the point and no fluff. I truly believe you wont regret the purchase.

Great book!!!!
this book will improve your life in a number of ways. Let me start by the authors reference of Henleys Poem "invictus" I am the master of my fate and I am the captain of my soul. The book is answerable in that it builds you up in all ways. It is an integrated approach to physical emotional mental and expands your senses. I highly recommend you purchase this book as well as give it to everyone you know as a gift. On my bucket list is to one day meet the author. His contribution to integrating the "old" ways with the "new" ways is remarkable to say the least. We should have someone these days that continues to expand our lives in a full filling way. This goes on my bookshelf as one of the 10 best books in my collection of several thousand books. Thank you Mr. Divine well done! Well Done! I am reading your next book as well.

it is the understanding and better managing the five mountains of being human
This book will opens up new ways to think, new information as to how the elite prepare and think smarter. This is not just thinking, it is the understanding and better managing the five mountains of being human. They are: The Physical, the mental, the intuitive, the emotional, and the inner spiritual, all discussed in this book. Mark will present material that I have never seen before, and get you to explore yourself to improve your life. I guarantee this book will improve you. But as the saying goes, only pick those things from the bone (book) that you believe can work for you, don't eat the whole bone and all that is in it. This book is meant to change your life for the better if that is something you really want. I suggest you also read the "Way of the SEAL" by Mark which complements this book and adds to it, which I have done. It is the journey not the destination I need to focus on.

Good read
I enjoyed reading this book but I found some of the content a little grandstanding. However, most of the contents are not new and there isn't any new revelation, for me at least. The last chapter was the best and the author's philosophy was clearly defined.

...clearly timeless technologies of the human spirit
The methods CDR Divine shares in this book are clearly timeless technologies of the human spirit. I have been a "seeker" for most of my life and I have come across many of the methods he uses here, but I have never had them explained in such a clear, useful and practical manner as he does in this book. As I put these methods into practice I can feel myself becoming the person I always strove to be (well, not always), but that seemed just out of reach. Properly executed, this book can be a transformational catalyst for anybody who desires to live at an elite level. Hooyah. I would give this 5 stars, but I purchased it just before a new edition came out. The new edition gets 5 stars. I wish I knew, and I would have waited a few weeks. I did join his online program to solidify the practices he touches on in here. Again. Powerful stuff. Proven to work over centuries of practice by elite level warriors, monks, and athletes.
