This book filled with vast knowledge of chemistry has and will continue to further m education in college. As a freshman, buying or even renting books is the key to success in all of my classes. This book will continue to help me for the rest of the semester and course. This book arrived on time and was and still is in good condition. I have received books in the past like this that were not as in good condition as this book was in when I received it. This book has good quality pages with no tears and does not have any odor surprisingly! The book nearly looks as though it had just been taken out of the manufactures plastic. This is a must buy for a college student if your professor requires this book for use. This book has became a part of my life. I love how its written, how they make sure we are understanding checkpoints, how they explain concepts, how the concepts apply to the real world, how it encourages you to design experiments, how it provides chapter summaries and section summaries, and most importantly, the amount of problems that are given. The authors place huge emphasis on solving problems to become proficient in chemistry. This book and Professor Finneran are responsible for why I became a Chemistry major.Thank you Dr Brown, Dr Lemay, Dr Bursten, Dr Murphy, Dr Woodward, Dr Stoltzfus, and Dr Finneran.

Great Buy!!!!!Chemistry The Central Science, Global Edition I gave five stars because when I took Chemistry I was provided with this book and it made the course much easier. This book provides great opportunities for critical thinking as well as countless practice exercises. Also this book is very well writen and explains what teachers don't. I would highly recommend this book for anyone taking college chemistry. Also, this book is essentially the same exact book as the non-global edition and its a quarter the cost of it.Pros:Not super expensiveVery well writtenHas half the answers in the back of the bookCons:paperback can be frustrating

Great book with very little wear. Exactly as described.

I consider myself a connoisseur of textbooks. I have looked at three of the best chemistry textbooks and this one is far and away the best. I paid way too much for the Tro text and the zumdahl textbook I looked at was so dense it gave me a headache to read. Brown is the oldest general chemistry textbook around for one reason: it is the best. Don’t bother looking at others. Sometimes tried and true really is the way to go.

OK I really struggle with Chemistry, and all other books demolish my interest usually with the first few sentences, THIS BOOK, HOWEVER, I'm tempted to buy it completely because it cracks me up. The author(s) are extremely sarcastic at times and tell vivid stories that have left me howling with laughter and holding my stomach. It's definitely made it easier to read, and more enjoyable. Thus far, my favorite note of sarcasm is how they feel about calculators, and my favorite story is the Nitric Acid one by the scientist in 1901.

I was a little worried about renting this book but damn..I will be renting more books from Amazon... It is cheap and affordable. Bye! Bye! to my school bookstore.

I bought it like a month ago and now its 20 dollars cheaper. Very heavy, but useful .Really easy to understand if you already have some Chem background, and if you don't I recommend you to use a dictionary.
