Crescent Lufkin 5/8" x 6' Red End® Masonry Wood Rule - 646LN

As a rule, it is accurate and well laid out. As expected.However, I discovered quickly that some of the joints of the rule are way too tight and grind against each other to the point where I need to exert some good force to open or fold the rule, which is a serious issue when you are constantly doing so all day.WD40 helps a little but it doesn't last long.Not worth getting another one though since I only use it a few months a year.[Granted, this isn't like my last Crescent/Lufkin rule that literally had the numbers out of order, (assembled wrong somehow, had to return that one) but still annoying in that it shows quality control issues.]

As masons we are hard on the equipment. These are no exception. They usually last about a year or so with normal use which is pretty good.

The boyfriend does masonry and he uses this type and a tape measure. He finds this a lot easier than the tape most days. He just needed to WD40 it so it would loosen up a bit.

I dislike this ruler because it wasn't made right it was a blemish
