Looks and tastes great.
I have made this cake twice now. This picture is last year’s version. I am not a great baker when using yeast. This year’s cake was a bit flatter, but very much still edible. It is easy to make. It uses yeast so you have to give yourself some time to let the dough rise. But it’s fun and worth it because it adds so much to the festivities of Mardi Gras!

The yeast was expired.
Everything was in the mix but the yeast was expired. I checked the package after my dough didn’t rise I had to add my yeast and work at getting it to rise. Never again. I will make my own with my ingredients

Perfection!
I had a great experience making my very first King Cake. It was a little time consuming, but well worth it. The is a QR code with a link to a "how. to" video on their website, that was very helpful. My first King Cake was a huge success at our Mardi Grad party.

Wrong colors!
I have used this mix in the past but this time the colored sugar packets were green, yellow, and GREEN. No purple.
