Peter Sadler Brown 55 Ounce Tea Pot
UPDATE 2014 November: I bought this sweet little pot nearly two years ago and we've used it daily since. It continues to be sturdy and its beauty seems to grow over time. On cold mornings (like below 65 in the house), I do pre-warm this pot before adding boiling water. We use this with a tea cozy, but before we found one we draped a thick towel around the pot to keep the tea warm, which also worked fine, keeping the tea acceptably hot for a couple of hours. I like that the lid doesn't fall off when pouring, it isn't prone to dribbling, and our pot has remained chip-free. The mouth is big enough for a medium tea ball, and it makes enough for four generous cups of tea, depending on the size cup you use. I would buy this pot again and am upgrading my review from 4 to 5 stars following my experience. (2013 April:) As advertised and of quality consistent with the price. Be sure to pre-warm teapots before adding boiling water. I read a review where the bottom fell out of a relatively new pot after adding hot water and I wondered if the pot had been pre-warmed. Most ceramic and many glass items are vulnerable to extreme changes in temperature so be sure to protect your investment. [2014 note: if the bottom had fallen out of my teapot against reasonable precautions, I would definitely return it for a replacement or refund. Even the best product can be flawed so give the vendor a chance to make things right.)

I love this Tea Pot
This tea pot is exactly what I have been looking for. I looked at the Mall in the chain stores and found only 1 or so that were pricy and had a small capacity. I wanted a piece that I can leave on my counter just like my coffee maker and that's just what I got with this tea pot. It looks like a more costly pot but that isn't why I chose it. This pot is sturdy enough for every day and I use it every day. I like the fact that the handle doesn't get hot, it pours nicely and by using a "cozy", the tea stays hot long enough to have that second cup for both Hubby & me. After several weeks I am totally satisfied with my purchase, I found the right pot for function, capacity, durability, and at a very affordable price. You can't go wrong with this item if you want a good every day pot, the dark color is a bonus as it will not take on the "stained "look from brewing daily. A quick rinse out is all that is needed.

I WANT so so much to love this teapot
I WANT so so much to love this teapot. When my original order arrived, I was smitten, until I realized that, due to a defect, the lid did not fit inside the teapot. I tried every which way, but that lid did not fit--it was too wide. I promptly went online and requested a replacement of the defective item, which was promptly shipped. This time, I opened the package with trepidation because I could hear something clanking around inside (ironically, this box was prominently marked "FRAGILE" and the first was not, although the first arrived intact). I pulled out the teapot wrapped in thick bubble wrap and found that the lid was wrapped together with the teapot (no bubble wrap in between) and the only thing wrapping the lid was a small thin piece of paper. The lid was in many pieces and there were shards of ceramic in there too. I work hard and am very busy. I generally find Prime so convenient. But receiving two defective items in a row is a huge nuisance. I am really disappointed.

Cute, perfect gift
Bought as a mother's day gift. The first teapot received had a lid that didn't fit properly (others had the same issue. This is the reason for only 4 stars). Order was promptly exchanged and new lid fits perfectly.

Pleased So Far :)
I just received my pot today and have already used it. Quite pleased! I wanted something to make it so I didn't have to keep brewing more cups and could keep things warm a little longer, and so I could make more use of the not-so-cheap tea I used up (Teavana - anjou pearadise + tock sugar+ youthberry/wild orange blend. Nom, nom.), rather than feeling as though I were wasting it. I chose this one because I liked the shape better than some of the other ones on the site. Like the others said, it can hold about 6 cups but it can also be quite heavy, so I will probably stick to 4 cups. It did great for my four cups of tea and poured nicely without any spillage. No damage, mars or scratches, and it looks cute. According to the label on the bottom, and for those who like to keep track, it's made in Malaysia. It looks very similar to a sugar and creamer set I got from Crate and Barrel, so I'm quite pleased with that too. I'm actually a little surprised it cost so little; I wasn't expecting it to be so nice. It only kept the tea how for about and 1 hour and 45 minutes, but that's better than nothing--at least until I can get a thermal carafe or a tea warmer.

Very pleased!
After doing some truly in-depth research trying to find a Brown Betty teapot made in England I found that unfortunately, the "original" manufacturer in England, (and others in England), had very spotty reviews re the quality. I found this pot and read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. I am very pleased. It is not made in England (it's made in Malaysia), and it is not the "original" Brown Betty teapot, but it is nicely made --- the lid fits well, it doesn't drip (if you pour too quickly, or overfill the pot, any teapot will drip) and keeps the tea hot for ages (I use a tea cozy). The shape is classic. The tea is the best I've made in years, as this teapot lends itself to loose tea using the typical English method of making tea that I remember from a child growing up in England.

The color is beyond pretty and it pours like a dream
OMG this teapot is the bomb! I am totally in love with the color, first of all. It's so wonderfully a warm, bright yellow color, it lights up my dreary morning. If anyone knows colors, it's actually a perfect New Gamboge yellow. It also is just big enough to be comfortably picked up full. I get four large cups out of it (my cups are 12 oz or so). It doesn't drip and it has one of those lids that doesn't fall off when you try and empty the last drops of tea out. I'd certainly recommend this to anyone who loves yellow and wants a happy, pretty teapot.

Best Little Teapot
It isn't fancy, but the yellow colour of my teapot is quite cheerful, and it handles, carries and pours more smoothly than any other teapot I've owned. It's less prone to spills, and it holds more than enough water for me: I get three full, very oversized mugs from it. The only thing to watch for is that the steam hole aims towards your hand, so if you overfilled it, and aren't careful, hot water will leak out that hole onto your hand and burn the living crap out of you while you're not able to do anything to save your hand without dropping the teapot (guess how I know this). So once I learned to only fill 'near' the top of the pot, the pot became perfect for me. Love it!
